vote on proposal Help the Poor

15-01-2004, 03:32
My resolution is here to provide jobs for the poor. The way I plan to do this is to give tax cutes to big businesses so that they will build their factories in our nations. These tax cutes will be paid for by the rich as well as the middle class. and over time they will be spread out to the poor people that we have given the jobs to. There will also be a law instated that the jobs can only be given to those people who are legally in our nations. This proposal probally won't pass because it would actually help our nations but I have to try anyways. The proposals name is help the poor. Come on people this resolution will help our nations why not vote one it.

The last time government went to bed with big business in the name of helping the poor, it was called fascism.

I advocate a strict separation of business and state, as much as possible.

Once again we come to the issue of the UN meddling in the internal affairs of nations. The UN cannot govern a nations business practices or how much they tax there people. It is not the business of your nation to tell mine or anyone elses how they approach their economy.

What you have proposed is somewhere in between socialist and communist in nature. Do not start another resolution that tramples on other nations right to do as they wish with their internal affairs, this behavior needs to stop.

A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
Oppressive, dictatorial control.

These are the definitions for facism. What I have suggested in no way fits any of the definitions. Maybe you should do a little more reasearch before you speak.

Allmost every proposal made, changes how we control our nations in some way. I don't see you telling them what you just told me. the duty of the UN is to make our nations better by passing proposals that will help them. A job that it is not doing. The only proposals I see pasing are ones that will hurt them.

It absolutely will not help my nation. I could just cheat and define the poor as the lowest .0001% of the population or all people named Bob and Bob will be enacted to be a title of respect only give by the heads of state.

Besides, there are no lines between rich or poor in my nation.

what my proposal does is help those who are poor. Not shorten the gap between them.

With all due respect, it is not your place, or the U.N.'s place, to help the poor that might exist in the Rogue Nation of Greenspoint (or any other), it is ours. This proposal is out of the U.N.'s pervue and should not be supported.

Capitalism. When will you stop clinging to the fallacy of property rights, a euphemism for the power to exploit others.

If it passed it will be because the people in the un wanted it too.

WOW! Is THAT how it works?

Actually, if it passes, it will be because a lot of delegates will vote 'YES' without having read any of the forum discussion on it or seriously contemplated the proposal's ramifications.
