I think the UN has outlived it's usefulness

When several proposals have been floated though that are poorly spelled, worded, or thought out, it's time to leave.

Goodbye, UN, you were a good idea, but you really just kinda... bombed. Either there needs to be more strict controlling of what gets proposed and what doesn't, or it needs to be scrapped entirely.

Either way, my nation is resigning.

Well, whilst I would agree with you I would say stick out (as I have now chosen to do) in order for more pressure to be applied so that better, more decent proposals are passed.

everyone has a right to free speech, even if something isn't very important to you, it might be important to someone else. people may put stupid proposals up but they never get backed so i don't see how it matters

How much pressure can you exert against a raging wall of water? Not enough to matter. The UN is a lost cause.

Oh, so true! Too much time is spent discussing proposals that take decision power away from individual countries (and individual citizens). "Less is more" is definitely true of government, especially world government (not that the UN is a world government, but it's starting to behave like one.)
