I'm sure that any nation in nationstates has had some sort of education or schooling in their life. if i'm wrong, i'm sorry, but i think that there should be mandatory schooling in every NS nation. I don't see why its a bad thing, more people available to help build the economy of nations instead of destroy it w/ junked out cars that put out enough smoke every 5 minutes to knock a horse dead.
Please post your opinion on the topic.

Yes, but only to the age of 15. In many other nations you need to work at 15, and it is important to make a living.

Don't force nonvoluntary action on Letila. It goes against our ideology.

We're anarchist. You can't make people go to school for long hours.

I personally think it's a very good idea. The education process should be mandatory until the age of universal suffrage.

Education is a good idea. But forced education is not. If something is forced on you, chances are it isn't worth it. If parents choose to not educate their children, their loss. But it is their choice, as it is their children. If their children have the desire to learn, they will. We in the Holy Empire of Juanky will have public schooling as well as private schooling for those who are blessed to go there, but forcing education might be counterproductive.

We here in the Holy Empire vote against anything forced unless it is life and death, because without choice life is pointless.

We say nay.

The big problem here: Schooling by -whom-? Originally, the schools we now take for granted were put in place as an alternative to the way that just about everyone used to do it: 'homeschooling' in the essentials, and then, depending on when, where, and who you were, apprenticeship, helping with the family enterprise, or going to the predecessor of our schools, the academy.

Then again, keep in mind that I happen to be one of those people commonly known as "high school drop-outs," and that I don't foresee graduation from college before my 27th birthday.

What made me call it quits, and what keeps me from going further? In my sophomore year of HS, I was "learning" grammatical rules, especially in my English class, that I'd only been refining since fifth grade, and words that I'd known for even longer were on vocab lists. "Alien" was on my 9th grade list. "Superfluous" was on my 10th grade list. Oh yes, and I also got a stern lecture from my American History teacher about gambling in school after being caught playing Rummy with a couple other students during the so-called lesson (which consisted of a 20-minute inane monologue, followed by a worksheet I was capable of finishing in five more).
That I was starting to go through clinical depression only made my choice a bit easier.

As for college: what stops me here? Funds. Unless you have scholarships, you can't make it into college without paying considerable amounts of cash, either before or (larger amounts, with interest) afterward. Since I only have my GED (General Education Diploma), I am ineligable for many of them, despite above-average SAT scores.

If education is mandatory, who will foot the bill? Who will enforce the standards? Who will even set up the standards? There are too many difficult issues.

--This being said, the presence of both choices being in full-caps and followed by two exclamation points is a sure sign of approaching mental imbalance.

The Republic of The Zakarum think that forced traditional schooling is totally uneccisary. It would ruin the atmosphere for the children who really want to learn, but if they are 'bad children' they should be sent to a forced learning school that teaches them values and skill for life at a more acclerated pace to get them back into the traditional system.

I feel(I might be repeating something, Im sorry  , Im new to the this topic) that certain schooling could be made mandatory up untill a certain age. An age in which children can start to make decsions for themselves. Education is a way to improve your life, and I believe that in a free society you should have the abilty to eighter better your life, leave it where it is, or worse make your life worse. I think before we should agree upon a certain age restriction to mandatory schooling before we put it to vote

I think schooling ought to be mandatory up until the age of universal suffrage and that it ought to be free, provided by the state.

I think thats a good idea, that there is a public school type system, where if u don't want ur kids there than don't enroll em, but if there are bad kids then they should be forced to go to school
