Unban Landmines
A resolution to improve world security by boosting police and military budgets.

Description: WHEREAS the resolution passed on 12/6/03 banning landmines was foolhardy and
WHEREAS as landmines are very useful weapons, paticularly for poorer nations who can't afford to maintain a large standing army,
BE IT RESOLVED that the ban on conventional landmines is hereby lifted. This resolution does NOT, however, lift the ban on landmines with chemical, biological, and radionlogical* warheads.
*This refers both to nuclear warheads and conventional warheads meant to spread radioactive material(dirty bombs).
I support this proposal. Providing that said country which uses them can afford a lengthy program for the finding and disarming of the mines as well as a medical program which covers the injuries of the innocent people who stepped on them...
Shoot them yourself! Don't be lazy cowards. Landmines are for people too wimpy to face enemies directly.

Guntland supports this proposal and will vote for it, providing it becomes a resolution.
We will not approve this resolution and will vote against it if it reaches the floor. Landmines once buried are difficult to get rid of. The effects of landmines are far too dangerous as they affect people long after war has ended.
Guntland reserves the right to defense of the fatherland, by any means nessecary .
Starships are better. Could a landmine enter hyperspace?

Citizens of Guntland shall use any weapons at their disposal for the defense of the glorious Fatherland. There may come a day when land mines may be nessecary to defend our small nation, and being without them is a risk im not willing to take.

I want to see this unfair ban on landmines be repealed. It ruined fresh viewings of my favorite sport out of Morporkistan (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=502007), "Put ten peasants in a stadium filled with landmines and tigers and the last one to die wins". I loved that sport. After I lost that, Prime Minister Jarkman got a steel piece embedded in his skull...so you might guess that I wasn't too happy.

I wish you luck in passing this proposal. I myself proposed this same idea, though it did not gain enough support. If you fail, I propose that we start searching for more people that think like us and then re-propose it.

I thought that dogs were the ones who lay those "Urban Landmines"
The landmines were banned for a reason. I don't know what it was, but it must have been important.

Aren't repeals prohibited, as changing game mechanics?
The Empire of Zonrania rejects this propasal as being a hazard to entire planet! And last I checked, a pressure activated explosive is a land mine, text book definition. If your such a small nation that you need landmines to fight, why don't you just AVOID fighting?
