due to issues translating and trading with different currancies, i suggest a standard currancy of which everything can be tied to (example: a standard is worth $10 us, $9.98 euro, etc.)
I never cared for the policy of Bretton-Woods Agreement. I like free floating currencies myself.

I support the nation of Malichae in attempting to bring a universal currency. It would allow all trades within the UN to be much more effective.

If this reaches the floor for a vote, then Dictator Klang will vote it down. And if it passes, then he'll be embedding steel pieces into the brains of any who try to enforce such stupidity. In fact, that's how I became Prime Minister. I think they are still trying to dig that steel piece out of former Prime Minister Jarkman's head without causing more damage.

He's not forcing you to use currency. He's proposing the UN regulate the production of curency so that any nation within the UN has the same standard of currency as any other nation. If you choose not to produce currency, then they will not force you.

We the People of the Queendom of Zirconlandia use the following as currency:
The Lapis.
Our Lapis is 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 based.
Our 1 Base Lapis is worth the Equivalent of a Brazilian Royal.
Our currency are small blue stones synthetically grown at our labs.
All currency of the same base have the same weight, size, and number of impurities.
All currency have the date, Initial of the city where it was grown, and a barcode carved into the side.
The phrases "Queendom of Zirconlandia" and "An Eye for an Eye" are etched onto the top and bottom of the "coin"
Each base coin is heavier than the last as the more valuable coins are purer in quality and larger.
There is a needle sized hole that goes through the coin from top to bottom.
Therefore, the people of Zirconlandia string them toguether and wear them as jewelery.
Indeed, this is quite fashionable.
All vending machines and laundry machines have 1 based lapis sized holes.
Putting a coin through these holes results in a needle going through the top, holding it in place and a small lazer reading the barcode, inicial, and date along the side. The approximate weight of the coin is also read in the pressure plate at the bottom of the reciever. Once the analysis is completed, taking about ten seconds, a panel is recessed, the needle is retracted and the coin rolls into the machine.
However, we would gladly conform to UN standards once a base ammount for all nations is established.

THe world's economy is not sufficiently globalized for a single, unified currency. That would be diastrous in terms of reduced fiscal flexibility.
Maybe 40 years down the line, it would be a good idea. But not now.

As far as I know, most people on the board use the US Dollar (USD) as a standard Currency anyway.
Roycelandia's Imperial Wibble is freely interchangeable with all other currencies, and is made up of 100 Smegs to the Imperial Wibble.
The Imperial Wibble, rather conveniently, is worth about the same as a US Dollar... :lol:
