Reduction of Stupid Proposals

This Resolution will require all proposals to be at least 250 words long and have a reason attached to them, to explain why they are trying to the proposal enacted into the UN. The Proposal will reduce the total number of stupid proposals because UN nations will have to think more about their proposals to reach the 250 word requirement.

I would be honored for your wonderful nation to place your approval on this.

It won't last, a mod will delete it.

10-01-2004, 17:44
And why will a mod delete it? It does not change game mechincas as far as I know.
10-01-2004, 17:53
It does, it changes the fact that you must have 250 words.
They also, don't want to have to count proposals to make sure they are 250 words. And they don't want to make a word counter to make sure people inputing proposals know how many words they have written.
It just is not gonna happen.

Well then it is up to the mod. But you might as well support it because there is a small chance that they will keep it according to you.

Get a life. It's a game - if people wanna play silly buggers, let them. As long as the actual proposal is not in direct conflict with your country's beliefs, why should you campaign against it? The really stupid proposals are the ones that crop up about a million times over, and show no imagination whatsoever.

What you fail to realize is that these stupid proposals take up space on the pages of the UN.

So do a load of unfathomably shit proposals submitted in all seriousness. Yes, most silly proposals will not be funny, but you don't have to read them if you don't want to - you can usually tell which ones they are by the title.

What you fail to realise is that this isn't the real UN.

Big Yellow spot, again, I couldn't agree more. Bahgum sees the problem as that of dull, obvious proposals. A little well crafted daftness is good, and proposals on the obvius serious issues should be written in an interesting way. Bahgum hopes that its proposals achieve this.

wow, such a heated topic!

Anyway, I hate stupid proposals, but 250 words won't stop them. It could also hamper good proposals that only need 200 words.

By example, here is a proposal that might meet the proposed standard of 250 words, while remaining just as silly:Being as the UN loves Hippos, Let's elect a Hippo as Secretary General. What say you all?

Stupid proposals are either amusing or infuriating.
Amusement and rage are antidotes for boredom and depression.
We are bored and depressed.
We want to see more stupid proposals.

Well, compared to the amount of stupid proposals that there used to be in the past, the reduction of stupid proposals has occured quite a lot.

Hm, actually I would like to see an INFLUX of stupid proposals rather than constant boring proposals.

Stupid proposals take up and waste space on the UN proposal's page.

Point made. Funny as heck too. I love hippos also. Hippos are sexy.

This resolution also affects game mechanics, chances are it will taken out by those who run the game. Those who keep making proposals like this ought to see the FAQ about what is allowed in resolutions.

Personally I love freedom of speech, regardless of the amount of words. Though I do prefer my laws without spelling and grammar errors that are written well.

Basically, the whole "stop dumn proposals" topic is now over talked about. We know they put up stupid ones, we are pissed, and we can't really do a whole lot. Or atleast not anything worthwhile.

Stupid proposals cannot be avoided, unfortunatly, but as to the word count issue, its not an issue. Most word processors have a tool that does a word count. But on the other hand, most word processors have spell check and see how well people use that when they draft proposals? This is a good effort and a good piece of legislation. My nation will suport this.

Reduction of Stupid Proposals

This Resolution will require all proposals to be at least 250 words long. ---

Lol, THIS is the dumbest proposal i've ever heard. Firstly: there are no stupid proposals, all things matter and count. Secondly: Even if the proposal would meet that word-requirement it doesnt change that the idea of it. Proposal can be good even with 3 words or 3000 or 250 words.

Whole Balilaba Government is strolngy against this thingy.

Please see our proposal on mother in laws and the human rights act., it may be stupid, but hopefully fun too. I put it to you all that this is far better than the recent 'pop ups' proposals. To show willing Bahgum has also written a more serious proposal on renewable energy, yet this seems set to fail too. Type 'mother' and 'renewable' in the search list to view. I feel that both proposals have a place in this game, a little fun, a little real issue!!

The Hippos proposal should have been deleted and the people who brought it up should have been givin a warning about making a proposal like that. And also a lot of you in this forum have stated that no proposal is a stupid one. So then why are you calling mine stupid? Enough said there. :?

Those of you who recognize Our nation know that We are foremost concerned with the decorum and sanctity of the United Nations and the proposals therein. However We find it very significant that the proposal in question is NOT 250 words long.

Using the proposals own logic it should therefore be deemed “stupid” and therefore We feel it should not be implemented.

One must also note that this message is also under the 250-word limit. Fortunately We may leave it to the reader’s judgment to determine the stupidity of this message.
