Who enforces - Resolution 245A Proper Grammar?

This resolution was passed a long time ago. If you want the details go to the UN and look it up.

I understand that not all nations speak or write English as a first language. So I would be willing to help these nations by reviewing their proposals, for spelling and grammar, before they submit them. As, I am sure, are many other nations you only need to ask.

But that is just the minimum. The proposal needs to be a clear well thought out issue. It's obvious in most proposals that no thought has been given to the implications of enforcing the resolution. (Or if it is even enforceable in the first place).

Not to mention that most proposals are categorized correctly. There no definitions supplied to the key concepts. You could go on and on.

Maybe what is really needed is a University for creating resolutions.

Idealy, I think the moderators whoo handle proposals are supposed to :P

Do you have any details? I have never heard of the Mods "handling" proposals. If so that would certainly give us a place to seek action on improving things...

IMHO - the main problem with most UN resolutions is that people click submit first; then think later. :!:

Of course if you factor in the current state of popular culture; it makes perfect sense that UN resolutions written by stoned, dyslexic, retarded, two year old monkeys are the most successful.

Isn't that why the nations on this board are upset? Resolutions with some thought and logic to them never see the light of day, while total crap not only constantly come up for a vote - most of the time they pass!

Aye, like the proposal to bring back dueling, or that proposal to regulate marriges, or about 90% of the rest including 95% of the resolutions passed.

HB I saw in another thread where you said that these weird resolutions were: "Or is this just an evil plot to keep the UN busy for doing any actual work?"

You might be on to something there

Sadly, this resolution is not enforced.

What about that bit: "moderators whoo handle proposals".

I'm guessing there is no truth to that.

:Sigh: ... I suppose that since no one else feels up to it, I'm going to have to start laying the smackdown...

To those who do not obey Resolution 245A, I suppose a fortnight in a castle full of sadistic porcupines and full-size posters of Anna Nicole Smith as she is when she wakes up in the morning should convince you to take a longer look at your proposals.

Don't make me attack you with my gerunds!

We of Letila don't even speak English, at least as a native language and the main language we use, N!à, has no official grammar.

Anna Nicole Smith first thing in the morning! No one deserves that! It's just bad grammer. Maybe threatening to making them listen to a William Shatner CD would do the trick.

The truth about the mods is that they delete proposals that are either:
a. irrelevant
b. been done before
c. horribly written/pointless

But, they do not fix them for grammar or spelling, once they are posted.

If this current resolution passed point C, I can't imagine the kind of stuff they must be deleting. I think it would be great fun to start a topic posting the rejected proposals! I bet there would be some really great laughs in there.

Why don;t you write that as a proposal? ballingomingo, I'd vote for it, the current proposal is a mess all right. and I don't think it is because the person who wrote it is not a native speaker of English.

My understanding is that you can't post proposals in the UN related to game design. But maybe I will. The worst that could happen is that they delete it.
