What's the deal with the internet pop-up resolution?

The Most Serene Republic of Etanistan is confused as to why this resolution made quorum and what, in particular, it intends to do. While it seems that the text of the resolution consists of the ramblings of a drunken teeenager transcribed by someone with a primary-school education, we are able to deduce this resolution has something to do with banning internet pop-up ads. But how? When? Where? What is the definition of an "internet pop-up ad"? Saying "you know what I mean" is NOT good enough!

A resolution needs more details and it ought to be written in a way that actually makes sense. Because it seems that only horrendous resolutions ever make quorum, the Most Serene Republic of Etanistan urges UN Delegates to STOP VOTING FOR POORLY-WRITTEN PROPOSALS and all other UN Members to STOP VOTING FOR POORLY-WRITTEN RESOLUTIONS.

ATTENTION: A new UN proposal has been filed by myself which fixes several of the flaws mentioned for the Internet Advertising Popups resolution.

Please take a minute to read over the "Internet Popup-Ad Reduction" proposal. It fixes grammatical errors, explains the purpose and background for the resolution, defines more specific actions required on the part of member UN nations, and does NOT ban popup-ads; it simply requires companies to allow the blocking of such advertisements in order to boost efficiency of the user and to reduce inappropriate content.

And please, vote NO to the current resolution, as the integrity of the UN resolution proposal process is at stake.

Thank you for your concern. But, exactly how will a law be upheld if the word "band" is used in place of "banned"? It could potentially change the meaning of the resolution, and will likely not hold strength in court. If the UN passes a resolution that is poorly written, both grammatically and in content, then it will set a precedent to allow more and more poorly written resolutions in the future.

Also, there has already been a resolution passed that bans such a poorly written resolution from becoming law. It is contradictory to pass this new resolution.

We agree in principle with the creator of this forum, if you wish to view our full opinion, take a look at some of the other forums on this subject.

WOW, I have never seen such an overwhelming majority in a poll before, As of typing it is 95% to 4%, 21 to 1.

I imagine the 1 vote yes was by the original author. Please, support the "Internet Popup-Ad Reduction" resolution and vote down the current bill!

Lopsided polls in the forum have no bearing on the eventual outcome of the vote, alas.

Many who vote must never read this forum.

It is the incoherent babblings of a chemically-enhanced ten year old

I'd have to say so myself.
