I plan to submit this proposal (As Belmorian Scandinavia my UN nation) is there any chance of some feedback on how you think this could be improved and whether you would support it or not.
Article 1
This Resolution is to work along side Resolution 245A Proper Grammar.
Article 2
This following applies to all people regardless of gender, race, age or nationality.
Article 3
The Official Language of The NationStates United Nations is hereby English. All Proposals are to be made in English.
Article 4
All proposals that are made after this that repeatedly misuse the English Language are hereby invalid.
Article 5
All nations that do not speak English are asked to find a translator (human, word processor or web based) to translate their proposal so it is acceptable for the United Nations.
I would support it, it would be nice to have an official language. However what you say is that no one who doesn't speak english can make a proposal, and that is unfair. You should put in something about the translators that nation states is searching for among us.
Article 5
All nations that want to submit a proposal but don't speak english, go to the forum and have a moderator get you a translator
Or something along those lines

Good idea, but game mechanics.

If you've ever used a web based translator, you will know that they never return a translation with correct grammar. Therefore this proposal is contradictory. (and yes, it's game mechanics)

No way, the Community of Bariloche approves of a common language to be used as for means of understanding and properly communicate ideas within the UN, but an "official" language picked by the majority goes against all cultural diversity principles we hold dear.

One must have a single language for a World forum - even the scientific community (always free-thinkers) accepts this, with American English soon to become the standard language for published scientific papers. Previous to this, the language barrier occasionally impeded work on major diseases like AIDS and malaria.
The Watenhi government would lend its support to such a proposal to work alongside Resolution 245A. However, Article (4) we feel to be too harsh. Invalidating all posts not written with perfect grammar, spelling and punctuation is behaviour up with which we cannot put.
Alternatively, certain prominent bilingual members of the United Nations could put themselves forwards as translators/proofreaders, so that there may be an official channel for translation, and so only limited possibility of abuse.
