The Republic of Ithuania will not tell its citizens who they are and are not allowed to buy beef from, nor what they are and are not allowed to eat.

We of Letila also fear mad cows. We generally eschew beef, anyway, though.

um the proposal doesnt order them to buy beef from anyone, just that the beef be tested, perhaps you should read things more carefully

My nation is completely vegetarian, but for all those other meat eating nations out there we will support this resolution. For the safety and well being of beef eaters as well as the safety and well being of cows we will approve this resolution. We will vote for it if it reaches the floor.

How about (to satisfy those who don't want to tell their citizens what they can and cannot eat/do with cows) we insist that there is a voluntary programme. Farmers can join the programme and their cows and the meat from them will be subject to tests and regulations, and in return they get to mark their products as "guaranteed BSE-free". Farmers who don't participate don't got to do this, but their products are not marked like this, therefore the consumer can make an informed decision.

The only way to completely eradicate the mad cow disease is to test all the cows in the world and if the cows test positive, kill them and then incinerate the bodies. THis is the only sure fire way to wipe out the mad cow disease.
