Ban Public Smoking
A person has the right to slowly kill themselves with toxins from smoking but do not have the right to kill other people in their immediate vicinity. Quote "Having a smoking section in a restraunt is like having a peeing section in a pool.” masterz_3742, This means it contaminates the whole thing.
Therefore I propose that smoking be illegal in public places so people like me can live longer, and breath.
The effect of this will make it so no one can smoke out of their house and they will be punished for smoking in public.
Also the air will have less toxins floating around.
Scientist agree 2nd hand smoke is still dangerous, and the ones who get 2nd hand smoke, unfortunately are addicted to breathing.
Please support this Proposals, and give me your thoughts on it.

I as a ruler has aready put a lot of thought into stopping smoking in my country,i have recenly given up smoking so i do not like second hand smoking, but i will not preach to anyone who wishes to kill themselves by their own hand
therefore i would not support any proposal at this time

The flu-like symptomatic and ultra cool nation of Berkylvania would support such a proposal...just as soon as we eliminate all forms of air pollution as well. It is silly to only concentrate on one area of the entire air pollution spectrum and say, "Well, we've fixed that! Now people can't smoke, so I'll live longer," when we have overland trucks and SUVs belching out tons of airborn contaminants every day, to say nothing about just plain regular cars. Not to mention the pollution spewed forth by the industrial manufacturing base.
Berkylvania citizens have the right to smoke. They also have the right to try and encourage others NOT to smoke. The UN, however, lacks the mandate to enforce this one highly specific and incredibly perjorative action on the rest of the world.

We have decided to take our chances with secondhand smoke rather than restrict individual freedoms.
We do educate about the dangers of smoking and provide patches for those who wish to quit.

What is the point of this? As you can do this on an issue?

There's an issue that dose this :?:

At least one, yes. But I don't know, if you have already submitted your proposal, you could just choose to leave it. If you want to ban smoking in your nation, you can just wait for the issue to come around, it is one of 100 or so.

I see this as a domestic issue, and so I will likely oppose any international legislation on the matter.
That aside, I'm SURE that ninety percent of all our air pollution comes from cigarettes. The industrial complex has nothing at all to do with it. Smoking is the primary concern for cleaner air, you've finally hit the head. Cars do nothing to the air. Factories do even less. Refineries likewise do not pollute. Cigarettes are the final threat to the environment posed by man.

Catholic Europe supports this proposal, believing that it will improve the health of millions of people and also encourage those smokers to give it up.
The Federation offers its support of this proposal in hopes that it will improve world health.
The major flaw I see here is the total lack of definition on "public places."

I believe the poser above you was being sarcastic.
Please understand this concept before posting again.
Thank you.

public - accessible to or shared by all members of the community.
according to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary
So smoking in restaurants may be harmful, but is smoking in a park harmful? What about smoking on the freeway? Or in an industrial complex? Or, for that matter, what about smoking in designated smoking areas? Under this proposal, those are banned as well because, after all, they're "public."

just remember one thing. It is true that the smokers have dictated there will over the non smokers for many years. Be enlightend, try not to do the same ruthlessly in return.
