Dear UN members,
I wish to formally announce to you all that myself and my cabinet have taken the decission to ban all opposition parties and elections in order to preserve and protect our beloved socialist revolution. I personally will review this action in one years time, citizens at this time will still have rights to freedom of speech and peacefull protest, however this may also be reviewed soon. Only the Cayo Communist and Socialist Party (CCSP) will be officially recognised by my government.

in carlemnaria we have found there to be only two equatable ways of dealing with political parties.
either to have an infinite number of them, representing every immaginable perspective, or to have none at all.
since we find them to serve no useful purpose but only a source of utterly gratuitios animosity, in our mostly nonhigherarchal society we have fallowed the somewhat simpler approach and have instead a no party system.
this is not to say we are a wet blanket
with any objection to peacable assembly
we simply find all political parties to be utterly supperfalous
instead we have what is known as plurality voting.
every voter names the everyone they would like to see on their local council.
anywone who is eligble to be elected they want.
this being done localy people choose those they know personaly rather then some distant face that is known only through conflicting and vested reports.
the members of these local councils by the same proceedure elect the next level and so on, all the way down to the national council.
the populace also sets the agendas for their concils and more often then not vote on issues directly.
this is a totaly participatory form of democratic quai-anarchy which has demonstratably worked well. (there have been a couple examples of this in rl btw! one of which has been ongoing for 160 some odd years!)
so though we have no political parties
we are in a sense the true and ultimate opposite of a one party system.
and these elections take place every year
though they have a tendency to reelect many of the same individuals
which we also see no harm in
and likewise as sometimes happen no one is reelected which is alright too.
