Stop Oppressive Marijuana Laws

Category: Recreational Drug Use; A resolution to ban, legalize, or encourage recreational drugs.
Decision: Legalize

Proposed by: Patriot States

Description: This resolution orders that marijuana be decriminalized in all nations of the UN. Too many responsible, law abiding citizens are being harassed by law enforcement and imprisoned for non-violent marijuana related offenses. That must stop. This resolution allows for possession of marijuana and for cultivation for personal use, whether medical or recreational. This resolution also proposes a state regulated distributorship for marijuana and will put an end to buying this substance from unscrupulous street dealers. Most importantly, this resolution orders that all non violent marijuana offenders be released and given a full pardon by the state and UN. Prohibition of marijuana must end now. Studies have shown marijuana use to be commonplace, safe, and its users pose no threat to order. It is time to stop treating otherwisw law abiding citizens like criminals.

Thanks for the support. We need it. Remember, the heart of this issue is to protect individual freedom and prevent unreasonable invasions of privacy against law abiding citizens who are not criminals. Prohibition is a crime in any form. I don't believe someone should be subjected to a midnight raid or a stint in jail just because they want to light up a joint on the couch, watch tv, and eat potato chips.
