Delegates please take time to lend your hand of approval to the "Fire Alarms" proposal. It was made to try and stop the thousands of people who die in their homes or buildings because they either don't have a fire alarm or it does not work properly.
It makes sure that people have working fire alarms in their homes, so they will be safer so please support it.
Thanks

Fire safety is quite important. My support is yours.

I disagree with this proposal.

On an unrelated topic: I would like to reiterate that there is absolutely no proof that The Republic of Burnation is responsible for the recent rash of desk-fires that have plagued the offices of UN delegates.

Fire alarms are meaningless if you don't have the crews to extinguish the fires

The alarms still allow people to evacuate the building. Whether or not the personnel exist to extinguish the fires is another issue.

That's meaningless if the whole city is going to burn because they caused a fire...

The destruction of an entire city is an unlikely situation. The responsibility of a nation to have adequate fire safety personnel is an issue independent of this one and belongs in another resolution.

Fire Alarms

Category: Human Rights; A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.
Strength: Significant

Proposed by: Emperor Matthuis

Description: Every year thousands of people are killed because they don't either have a smoke alarm or it was not working properly.
So i propose that every house should have a working fire alarm in it and that it be checked once a month by the person living in that household.
And if someone does not have a fire alarm then a fine will be placed on them, and they will be given a fire alarm, which someone will set up for them.
If a fire alarm does not work, then the government must give the household one, and make sure it is installed properly and works.
Please support this Resolution
Thanks
