Rix Chex, press secretary for the Rixtex government, released the following statement to the media this morning:

President Rix Wax recently communicated his dissatisfaction with the power and procedures of the United Nations and indicated his desire that the citizens of Rixtex debate the issue of continued U.N. membership in their Citizens Caucuses, where all great issues in Rixtex are discussed. The Citizen’s consensus was that Rixtex should continue to be a part of the world community in general and contribute to the Region of Texas in particular. To that end, the consensus was presented to the Rixtex Congress, who prepared and passed a final resolution on the matter, the text of which follows:

Whereas, the Congress of Rixtex, with the consensus of it’s citizens, passed the United Nations Membership Act in order to join the world community of NationStates and provide for the collective defense of the Region of Texas, and

Whereas, the citizens and government of Rixtex have, with growing alarm, noted that the United Nations has become usurped by factions who seek to force others to their narrow view of the world by passing increasingly coercive and socialistic resolutions that are counterproductive to the governance of free nations, and

Whereas, many of said resolutions are poorly written, based on incorrect information and faulty logic, and contain many grammatical and spelling errors, and are nonetheless approved by moderators apparently unconcerned by such mediocre standards, and

Whereas, the citizens of Rixtex have been adversely affected by said U.N. resolutions, and

Whereas, the Citizens of Rixtex, in Caucus assembled, have determined that, regardless of the adverse effects and low quality of U.N. resolutions, it is still desirable that Rixtex be engaged in the world community and active in the collective defense of the Region of Texas,

Therefore, the government of Rixtex is authorized to maintain Rixtex membership in the United Nations, to debate and vote on U.N. resolutions guided by the constitution, laws, and policies of the Republic of Rixtex, to work for the reform of the U.N., and to actively promote and participate in the collective defense of the Region of Texas.
