I think that eduacation is probably the most effective way of bettering society. Ensuring children have the best education is vital to not only them, but the progression of societly itself. What I feel is that children should have much more control over what subjects they choose. Great minds are wasted because they are not given the right choice or chance to excel in there field.

We should make it so all children in our nations have more control over what subjects they choose from a younger age. This would have two things I feel people will use to object to it. One, giving children these choices at a younger age is putting to much pressure on them. And two, This would cost more as more teachers would have to be enrolled. I believe both sacrafices are worth the final outcome of ensuring children are able to show what they can do best in which ever field that may be.

The children should be given the chance to try each subject for say a month then after trying all subjects decide which ones they are best at and will enjoy doing, not wasting any talent on a pointless subject. Children are not as brittle and weak minded as many think. Sorry about the size, please try to read the whole proposel and not just the first and last sentance before you make judgment.
Comments and improvements would be welcomed.

We feel the one month period is too long because schools would have to force the curriculum into a very short time. In education a month is a long time.

The Queen feels very strongly that there is no such thing as a ‘pointless subject’, knowledge is only pointless if it is wasted. Children may not realise beforehand that a subject may come in useful.

You don’t specify age or type of subjects available (vocational ect.)

this is the problem, there are still many problems but hopefully I will be able to modify the proposel accordingly. Age: I was thinking about eleven (again the 'too young' fact comes in)
You will have to excuse me for wording the pointless subject phrase badly. I was refering to some subjects being pointless to some and good to others. A month may be too long but if the child is not given enough time to see whether he/she enjoys/is good at it, then the entire point of the proposel is lost. Please continue with comments as I will try to ansewr them as best as i can with an open mind.

In our college you pick your subjects at your interview and have an introduction period lasting a month where you do your chosen subjects. In this time you can swap lessons and try other ones. We believe this is a good system.

As our school system is based on the English system* (5-11 primary, 12-16 high school) I think 13 would be a better age for my citizens because they would have a chance to settle in.

*only better, naturally.

OOC: If you’re worried about people not reading your post because it is too long try breaking it down into paragraphs.
