Save Quanda

17-12-2003, 19:40
Recently, the nation of RFF used biological warfare and weapons of mass destruction on the nation of Quanda. . Quanda did nothing to provoke or deserve this brutal attack. The nation RFF has abused their power, and something must be done about it.
I therefore propose that the members of the UN declare war on the nation of RFF to remove the weapons of mass destruction and biological weapons from the country. This is the only way that nations can be sure that RFF can not abuse their power, and attack innocent nations. :x
The UN must act quickly, because the danger grows more every day that the nation of RFF is free to make and use these barbaric weapons.

This proposal can be found in the UN proposal list, under the name "Save Quanda"

The United States of Toa thanks you for your support! :)

The Republic of Arthuria-Elizabetia supports action to stop the horrific attacks upon Quanda.

However, we would like to add that there should be a cohesive plan of action, specifically preventing retaliatory nuclear, chemical, or biological action upon RFF's civilian population. We do not have the right to inflict needless suffering upon civilians.

It is clear our target is the government of RFF, not its people.

It is exactly this sort of scenario that the Commonwealth of Billthecat had in mind in developing its strategic nuclear arsenal. We have nuclear weapons and make it absolutely clear that we shall not hesitate to use them if we are attacked.

We send our deepest sympathies to the people of Quanda, and hope that this case serves as a lesson to other peace loving nations. The use of biological weapons would likely not have occurred if there were a nuclear consequence.

The UN won't declare war (I believe it's in the FAQ). You could request individual nations RP war on your behalf, but that's not a UN thing.
IIRC there's already resolutions banning biological weapons and landmines, though nothing yet on nukes or chemical weapons.

My proposal is directed more at the individual members than the UN as a whole. I realize the UN itself wouldn't declare war, and I now realize that I have perhaps incorrectly phrased what I was trying to say. . the proposal was not meant to be approved, but rather used as an easy means of spreading word of the problem.

Fair enough - have you tried putting the word out on the RP forum? IIRC only about a third of nations are members of the UN, so you're losing two-thirds of your potential audience if you only post here.
