ATTN: UN HAS BEEN ATTACKED

My fellow national members of the United Nations:

It is our sad duty to inform this body that the UN has been targeted and attacked by terrorists. One of the UN's member states, Guerrillastan, has suffered suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks aimed solely and directly at the UN officials and their families in that nation. The member's former ally, Terristan, has taken full responsibility for at least the initial attacks.

[OCC - the thread can be found here: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103437 ]

The RCO requests that UN member nations support our fellow member against such barbaric and cowardly attacks upon it, and that they pressure Terristan to back down from assisting such butchers.

The RCO has already given its vow to protect our fellow UN member, should it decide to remain a member. We have vowed to treat all acts of war against the UN as acts of war against the RCO. We hope that our fellow UN members will have the courage and the just temper to do the same.

With Respect,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Voegelin, Royal Commonwealth of Oakeshottland.

To the member nations:

We had hoped that the esteemed membership of this august organization might show a bit more concern that its offices and officials are being attacked in a member nation. Is the UN merely to be a quiant debating society, dealing with increasingly asinine issues, unconcerned about direct assaults upon it?

While our UN officials and their families are threatened, I see the esteemed membership has been debating such earth-shattering issues as sexual intercourse. While Terristan, a member of the A Corp region (which openly acknowledges that it is made up of terrorist nations aiming at the destruction of the UN), is helping send suicide bombers into our buildings, the esteemed membership debates the world-historic issue of "Hippo Day."

Fellow members, the UN is showing itself dangerously close to irrelevance. The various members, admittedly, have strong disagreements. The RCO is certainly no stranger to them. But certainly ALL member nations can agree that SOMETHING must be done to protect our organizations' officials. If not, apparently there is no point in defending them - the terrorist states may show themselves to be correct. If the UN shows, as a body, an unwillingness to support and protect its own officials from slaughter and murder, then obviously there is a deep, festering, and degenerate element in the organization. The UN is then only qualified to debate "Hippo Day."

Hopefully, the UN membership will show some support to the officials who work for us, for our organization. Hopefully, it will not show itself weak in the face of terrorism and gangsterism.

With Respect,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Voegelin, Royal Commonwealth of Oakeshottland.

I am sure that the UN will jump to your aid. I can see them now, enacting legislation outlawing hurting people, content that this will work.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, the non-UN country of the Armed Republic of Maczimize will be willing to share any information that our intelligence networks might uncover regarding the origins of these attacks.

Archaeus is in the process of reducing its military, in reflection of its principles of neutrality and passivity. We regret that we cannot aid you, but we would gladly provide medical help to casualties of this war and nonmilitary support.

Adriano-Trace has cut off all economic and military ties with Terristan and is, hereby, offering RCO a "most favored nation" trade agreement and the use of military counter-terroist "advisors" as needed up to 2000 at this time. This is being offered with the understanding that , while both our nations are members of the UN, such an initiative on the part of Adriano-Trace is founded upon our disdain for the dishonorable use of terroism as a means to achieve political ends. It is the policy of Adriano-Trace to support any Nation that request our assistance in the universal war on terror in like manner regardless of whether they are UN members or not.

After having been informed of this horrible deed towards a fellow UN-nation (which we have never heard about before - must have offices in another part of the UNHQ buildings), we have started deploying troops to Oakeshottland immediately.

It is our pleasure to announce that a full army-division of our dreaded "Lousy banjo-players & Wailing Housewives" and two batteries of our "New Improved *Take that with your morning coffee stoopid twerp* DeCaf-Cannon" will shortly be at the complete disposal of Oakeshottland's military.

It is our hope that this will be enough to turn the tides against this Nin-com-pooh.

These are the words of the High Council of the CiG-Nation.

OOC: Our military is neither futuristic or fantasy, nor any of the normally seen kinds - It is based on the much feared humour and ridicule. Hope it can be accepted in this role-play.
