The UN has pros and cons, with the pros far outweighing the cons. There is security in numbers.

I believe the UN has far outgrown its humble beginnings, and needs a complete overhaul of existing rules, which are disjointed and ineffectual. Witness one of the very first resolutions, regarding 'massive military might' as juxtaposed with later resolutions regarding social structures.

There needs to be a precise, succinct declaration of what fundamental level of human rights is to be promoted and practiced, worded in such a way that it does not impose an undue burden on member nations (i.e., creating an imposing bureaucracy that does little more than soak up tax revenue).

one problem. The un should not even let issues like hippo day on the table. Because of some immature kid, there are like 5 days wasted. And the delegates who supported orion nebula's proposal also have a problem.
let's get serious, delegates. This is just a game, but it's a game that tens of thousands of people want to play. how can you expect that with retards like orion and his friends.

I do not like the current UN "rules" but I have faith ( hopefully not misguided) that those who have the authority to "adjust" them will do so.

It is no secret that the current UN rules are anything but "democratic" when a minority (less than 50%+1) can pass and enforce compliance with any resolution. I have seen the argument put forth that "they can't make everyone vote." To which I have replied: Yes they can, by the same authority that they currently enforce compliance that being AS A CONDITION OF MEMBERSHIP. both the means and the reasoning already exist within NS the only thing lacking , to date, is the WILL of the "authorities" to take those actions that would make the NS UN a truly "democratic" cooperative organization.
