International Space Agreement

11-12-2003, 04:42
When nations are in the space race, and trying to claim a piece of history against a rival nation, we often forget friends. The International Space Agreement means that all nations who support a space program would work together to expand our frontier, and establish Space Stations all throughout the solar system, for all Countries to use. It also means that no lone country can lay claim to any such land outside the atmosphere, nor use any natural satellites (I.E., the moon) to their own uses. It also enacts another such law. The Earth Protection Program, which requires all nations to unite to avert any disasters that threaten the face of the world, such as asteroids, and possible alien encounters.

Not sure I follow what you're trying to do. I can't find any proposal titled "International Space Agreement." The UN already passed a resolution on this subject, though it is different:

International Space Initiative

Category: The Furtherment of Democracy; a resolution to increase democratic freedoms.
Strength: Strong

Proposed by: Fortunado

Description: For better of democracy and the future of mankind, herewith is our proposal to form the International Space Intitiave (ISI). A worldwide participatory group designed to cull the best and the brightest from around the globe for the sake of exploring worlds beyond our earthly soil. Rather than make the space race a race at all, the ISI fully utilizes the basic ideals of intelligence and communication. Working much like the United Nations, the ISI will plan, build and implement space exploration on a committee basis with shared expense and reward. As a bare bones plan, herewith are basic ideology for the ISI:

1. A universal collective of science, manufacturing and defense.

2. Cradle-to-grave education for all to ensure future generations that space is no longer regarded as a folly, but as a serious opportunity to utilize.

3. The chance to explore and possibly, ihabit, lands beyond Earth bringing forth a mission of Peace. Kindly cast your vote to ensure that the future of our children and our childrens' children fully explores all opportunities.

Votes For: 9806

Votes Against: 2930

Implemented: Mon Oct 6 2003

EDIT: I suppose I should say, since I've been running around posting people's proposals lately, that this is NOT the proposal currently being debated. This quote is a resolution that has already passed.

I agree. The Republic of the Segovene does not recognize any extra-terrestrial Human establishments belonging to any nation, rather seeing it belonging to Humanity as a whole. Any nation laying soveriegn claim to pre-existing objects in space beyond Earth itself (i.e the moon, mars) will be diplomatically ignored.
