OOC TRUE-UN roleplay

OOC:
(edited for clarification)
I would like to start a roleplay of a realistic UN. One that debates, has a security council, sends peace keepers, makes reolutions which are generally ignored, etc. - as opposed to the game UN which does not resembles the real thing in the least. Let me know what you think.
Note 1: This is not a UN proposal. I quit the UN due to its unreasonable and unrealistic functioning.
Note 2: cross posted from the NS forum due to possible interest in both forums. I would appreciate all replies being made to the NS forum thread. :) http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102147&highlight=

poll disappeared in 1st edit and was replaced, don*t know if it will make it through this one...

How exactly do you find it unrealistic?

How exactly do you find it unrealistic?

A few of the many reasons:
A) It has enforcement powers over internal social, economic, and political matters that the real UN would not even dream of interfering in.
B) It has no realistic enforcement power over matters that the UN (and related international bodies) does contol.
C) There is no means or mechanism for the NSUN to interven in conflicts, a major role for the real UN.
D) Real nations (the US, Iraq, the former USSR, Israel, and the PRC to take a few outstanding examples) are able to ignore UN resolutions. NSUN resolutions effect nations regardless.
E) No security council.

Holy GOD... how could you ask such a question.

Hygiene resolutions?! Gay rights, mandatory recycling, freedom of humor?!

It's an intrusion on the nations and their sovereignty. Resolutions should ONLY be for nation-to-nation relationships and interactions.

Count me in!

A "true UN" violates the purpose of the UN and therefore should be voted down.

That is why this is not a UN proposal. :D

Then why bother trying to usurp the UN's authority and power?

To clarify (I was not clear in the OP), this is a proposal/suggestion for an RPed UN that would reflect the actions of a real UN. I posted it here as a mattrer of interest to UN players.

So an all out UN sanctioned war against all non-UN nations isn't out of the question.

I would like to see this. Although I am the UN delegate of my region, Dragoon (which would like to see more nations join the region), I don't agree with the UN's power to tell me or my fellow nations how run our governments. One of my supporters, the Holy Empire of Byzantinum,(for example) withdrew from the UN when he found out that he was required to support the following UN laws: gay marriages be protected and endorsed by law in the member nations,United Nations support and promote a greater understanding of all religions and promote more tolerance of differences of religion (his nation has one religion and all others are pursecuted), and he does not want to use the metric system because he made up his own form of measurements.

Somewhere it says the "UN is the world governing body" or something similar
