Proposal: Non-Lead Act

09-12-2003, 05:59
Lead poses a problem.
The Problem with Lead pipes is that people are denied the right to clean, safe water. If we ban the use of lead pipes, people will not be poisoned by the lead piping, and have clean fresh water.
Lead paint is also a problem, for it has caused deaths when inhaled for too long.

If we ban lead from numerous household products, we will guarintee environmental safety, as well as better human rights.

This would really be better left to the countries themselves. We can't have the UN dictating every aspect of everything.

The UN is supposed to deal with International Issues. Lead pipes and paint is really a domestic one.

On a related note, who writes up the outstanding issues? This might be something for them to send out.

You're right, it's not a sufficiently international issue.

But a decent idea nevertheless. So how can the proponent get credit for it? Where could he post his local legislation where it will be seen and appreciated?

I don't know where I could post my local legislation where it will be seen. But I don't think anyone has ever seen any of my proposals, or even had a thought about them. Ah well.
Voting Ends on my proposal to consider it a resolution on thursday. I have 8 supporters so far. If it doesn't work, ah well, back to the drawing board.
