Make some Cash for your Nation!!!!

AnteNicea would like to offer any UN member Nation 1 penny on the dollar for all those "Banned Land Mines" you have to now discard. Might as well generate a little revenue for your nations from the UN's stupidity, don't you think?

Oh and btw AnteNicea will stock pile Land Mines and make them readily available to any nation that is attacked , for a price.

There are no land mines in Moptopia. We believe them to be a barbaric weapon that cannot distinguish civillians from soldiers.

I simply avoided the problem, by just renaming my land mines to land traps. The UN does not outlaw land traps.

And what about the tens of thousands to remove them? You'll pay that as well?

The proposal said nothing about removing any land mines already deployed.Nor did it ban the deployment of new ones. It only banned mine use during conflict.

Germany and France raises a valid point. The vagueness of the resolution in question, like many resolutions in the UN, does work against it. Some may draft a revision (I tried once, but failed miserably, I may try again in the near future).

Just the fact that a country can rename the land mines to land traps so easily to get around the law because it does not specifically name what constitutes as a land mine in all its forms no matter what it is called. I think the proposition needs to be resolved to revise the language that is much to vague and leaves way to much for interpretation.

I don't think anyone ever defined what constitutes "using" a landmine.

I say it is the actual explosion of the device. Therefore, you're not using it until someone steps on it, thus using it. Not only do they "use" the landmine and lose an apendage; they are violating the new UN resolution.

LOL, I agree wholeheartedly with the Oppressed Possums.
That Bill should not have been passed.
But The "Pacifists" are the majority in the UN.

I will be sure to let the people know that as they are walking on my landmines, in addition to paying for the replacement of the device since they used MY landmine, I will also let them know they are violating U.N. law and may suffer sanctions.
