A lot of people are resigning because they hate this horrible new proposal on torture and all of the stupid national leaders who support it. However, resigning seems a bit extreme for a number of reasons:
1. It's just one proposal. Maybe you will get your way next time, or the time after.
2. In text it may be the most miserable piece of legislation ever drafted in the history of politics, but when it comes down to game mechanics, only the category matters. Go on saying that you torture your citizens, people will forget about the resolution soon enough and you can live with the little boost to civil rights.
3. Without the sensible people who are against the resolution, the rest of us who don't quit are doomed to the futile education of the foolish masses. We need all the help we can get telling people how much these generic resolutions stink.
