United nations....micromanager of the world?

Do you really want to allow the UN to decide on such minor national issues such as torture?

Next they will be telling us public nudity is wrong, or even move away from the bounds of legal or illegal drugs...vote no on the current issue!!!

Vote no, or be micromanaged by others in larger countries.

Micro managing things on an international level. Sort of an oxymoron wouldn't you say.

I would hardly call the calculated injury and application of severe pain to an individual a 'minor issue'. What exactly do you feel does constitute a major issue?

On the whole of things torture is a minor issue.

Honestly, what difference does it make to other countries how we deal with spies, thieves, etc...

And what right does the UN have to say whether or not I can single out one member of my small population?

13 trillion people or more in the world, of those I represent less than 1%. Banning torture is micromanagement plain and simple, it's worse than the Union issue.

My point is, it's no business of yours or anyone elses how I receive my information from my criminals. If I choose the spanish inquisition to change my religions drastically, again it's my business.

If you want to be a bleeding heart and give a damn, send me a nice telegram, but do not make it law.

I have to point out, you joined the UN, with all that that entails. Torture is a major issue - especially considering that the UN is avowedly concerned with human rights, and torture is seen by many as a major violation of those rights!
