how does the UN have supreme authority over sovereign nations. if the UN imposes a fine, as in the torture legislation currently up for vote, where does the money go? if you ask me, the UN is too big and too powerful to be an effective watchdog. i say we should severely limit the power of the UN and give the power back to the sovereign countries that make up the UN. just because something is right for one country does not mean it is right for the world.
