Alternative Fuels, Don't vote for uneccessary resolutions!

30-11-2003, 07:27
In the current case the U.N. membership is overwhelmingly supporting a resolution that will do nothing new for the environment, but will damage our economies. Several months ago the U.N. membership approved a resolution for research into Hydrogen powered cars. The current resolution is redundant.
Because of this the current resolution will have NO NEW EFFECT upon the enviroment of the world. What it will effect is our economies. Because of the game design all we are doing is effectively doubling the negative economic impact of the first resolution.

Not necessarily nuclear powered, just that there needed to be a way to get hydrogen cheaply.

Global Warming is a terrible effect of what we as humans and our nations have done to the world around us. I believe, as the ruler of the Democractic Republic of Utopian Nationalities that Global Warming must stop. I also believe that the only way for this castastrophie to stop is by ending our use of fossil fuels. The automotive industry and other industries as well are making a profit in what is destorying the ozone layer. The way I propose to end this is use nitrogen based cars, planes, and in other machine as well. This will end global warming.

The leadership of Treeonia continue to vehemently oppose this ludicrous resolution of Alternative Fuels. We have, in fact, spent the last three days in discussion on this resolution.

The National Council of Treeonia suggests the following as food for thought and not, at this time, a proposal:

1)
We agree in regards to the Alternative Fuel resolution, in principal only. It is in the best interest for all nations to bind together and create an alternative fuel resolution.

2)
The current legislation is redundant as previously explained and does not resolve any alternative fuel crisis at all.

3)
This resolution, as it stands, creates undue burden upon a single industry, the Automotive Manufacturing & Transportation Industry. In our opine, completely biased and totally unfair.

4)
The leaders of this universe are not interested in Alternative Fuels, only in the devastation and destruction of the Automotive sector and obviously, either are not reading the current resolution or comprehending its contents.

5)
We suggest that the UN, if indeed they want uni-lateral agreement of the importance of Alternative Fuels, create a Universal Fuel Symposium, in which all fossil fuel depleteing nations must participant and in which all non fossil fuel depleting nations may voluntarily participate.

5a)
The Universal Fuel Symposium will be tasked with defining fossil fuels and determining, with current and future technology, the depletion rate as expressed by concerned nations. Upon determination of depletion rates, the UFS will make appropriate suggestions as to proper course and action, at which time UN nations may approve or dis-approve of the course and action by vote. However, it must remain clear, without exception, that no single industry, by force of UN legislation, bear the cost of any scientific or manufacturing costs in finding a resolution to a Universal Alternative Fuels question.

5b)
The Universal Fuel Symposium will not extort fees, expenses, taxes or any monies from any single entity or nation and will be funded entirely by UN dues paid by nations registered as a UN nation.

5c)
The Universal Fuel Symposium shall not become a strongarm extension of the UN to enforce any approved UN measures on Alternative Fuels, rather an office of study, suggestion and appropriate assistance in creating Alternative Fuel services.

As the Alternative Fuel question is Universal in nature, we deem this a fair and appropriate option.
