Automotive nations RESIGN FROM UN - FORM OUR OWN TRADE BLOC

29-11-2003, 16:58
If, as seems likely, the UN endorses the motion before it, a fundamental change will be forced on our automotove industry - one which the UN - a political not an economic institution - has no right to enforce.

Paddys Castle, one of the World's leading automotive manufacturing nations, has therefore decided to RESIGN FROM THE UN IN PROTEST, thus avoiding this unfair, vindictive and damaging tax from being forced upon its industry.

King Paddy calls on ALL AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING NATIONS to RESIGN FROM the UN tomorrow, November 30, 2003. That way, the UN will be made to look like the foolish organisation that it is and be impotent to enforce this foolish motion.

ALL AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING NATIONS RESIGN FROM THE UN TOMORROW. We shall then FORM OUR OWN INTERNATIONAL TRADING ORGANISATION and scupper this nonsense once and for all.

Because after all 1% of profits will completely ruin your economies and they'll be fine even after fossil fuels run out.

The UN has overstepped the mark with this motion. This motion will cost automotive nations billions of rammies and penalise a single industry for a problem to which it is only a tiny contributing factor.

I ask you - do we jail gun makers for murder every time a bullet kills someone? No - it is the people who are at fault.

This is a narrow-minded, vindictive attack on the auto industry. EVEN MORE, it indicates the feeble mind-set of the UN.

VOTE NOW TO REGISTER YOUR SUPPORT FOR YOUR AUTO INDUSTRY.

This is the thin end of the wedge. I urge you, leave now before the next, insane resolution is forced upon you!

I would hope that calmer heads will prevail and that noone leaves the UN.
The only way to stop that shich you dislike is to argue and campaign for more membership by those nations you agree with.

Even if you choose to leave and set up a trading bloc your trade will still be inluenced by the UN because of the nations you trade with that are still members.

I thank you for your support. I would vote to resign but I already did a long time ago. Please if you have the time rally more people to our cause. I hope the UN listens to us I really don't want a global war but if means request it so be it.

If you told us more facts about the tax then I might agree with you, however, you have only showed rhetoric and no facts!!! :!: :!:

As all automotive industry within it's own borders is owned by the nation of Sendozia that 1% will be coming out of state coffers.
However Sendozia still supports such a resolution as it simply good business sense to continue research into possible alternate fuels.
Research and Development is a part of the business, save for a few of the fuddy-duddies who still turn out Edsels and Model-Ts. We are constantly evolving in technical design and improvements, or at least you should be. Who else is better equipped to develop such alternate power systems? Sure a bunch of eggheads sitting in some thinktank in the mountains can propose ideas til the sun goes down, but in the end its the hands-on engineers that will put those ideas into motion.
R&D is constantly working on lighter and stronger alloys in which to build vehicles, designing new shapes to better take advantage of aerodynamics, and tinkering with engines to get that extra edge.
Why is it so strange an idea to investigate alternate fuels?

Your own military would no doubt be interested in such alternate fuels. You need only look at the history books where in WWII German tanks sporting superior weapons and armor where often defeated by lighter and nimble US tanks because they ran out of fuel in the field! While not all possible fuels would fit military criteria, it would not such a stretch for the military to possibly aid in said research, thus distributing your costs a bit.

Rather than see this as an obstacle, look at it as a new oppurtunity to get into something at the ground floor. 8)

Yes, quite the leader in automotive manufacturing you are. Your nation of 10 million will surely devestate the UN with it's massive automotive alliance...

I propose a war over the natural world. Those who favor sdestroying this world in favor of cheaper cars and short term economic growth for one group, those who want to save the world for another, then we all crush those who haven't joined our side, including those who didn't pick a side.

The only way to solve this is with one final global war, the losers will all be executed, brainwashed, or enslaved. The problem will then be solved.

Have a good day.

True to our word, Paddy Castle has quite the UN and its envoy has shaken the coruption-infested dust from his sandals as he left the sleaze-infested building.

King Paddy calls on all free-thinking, hard working industrious nations to join him in his stand against the perverted institutions of the UN.

Those simple minded members who believe the problems of the world can be fixed by one industry should be left to to exist in their own fantasy.

Those who wish to enjoy economic development, free from the shackles of half-brained, long-haired moronic, punitive taxes should join the people of Paddys Castle in a new free-trade area to rival the UN.

QUIT THE UN! STRIKE A BLOW FOR FREEDOM!

yeah... brilliant... quit the UN and make SURE your voice isn't heard. noble, romantic, ridiculous...
30-11-2003, 01:35
..is this message clear enough!!!

Cuparhead shall not have its fiscal policy dictated by the external disruptive influences.

We resign from the UN.

yeah, but why would we listen to non-UN members? the issues don't matter to them, even if they can post here.

Culzean Avenue has wondered away from the UN. We're not having anyone tell us what to do, dude.

Like no way....
30-11-2003, 01:51
Why yes,i have to go with you on this one
Most of our cars are Turbocharged  (more power,2 mpg max less) and we are mosly a nation compromised of Automotive Entusiasts, including,me.
So,what is this nation/region again?
And also are biggest industry is Automotive (last strike,Brix's economy nearly collapsed)
30-11-2003, 01:52
by the way,we resigned
30-11-2003, 02:01
....that's why you should listen. We don't hide behind the cloak of the UN. We have have courage to stand up for our beliefs.

If you won't stand with us, then go ahead - stick your head in the sand. We warn you - let them interfere with even one industry and next they'll be setting your taxes, dictating your laws and destroying your sovereignty. This is about more than the auto industry, it's about freedom.

How dare the UN dictate how a free corporation runs its affairs. How dare the UN blame all the world's environmental woes on a single industry.

This is the same UN whose ambassadors and delegates fly thousands of miles around the world every year. These hypocrites burn more carbon in one flight than a car does in a year. And then they have the audacity to take a chauffeur-driven limo to the UN building ater disembarking from their aeroplane! How dare these talk-shop jocks dictate their half-cocked ideas to me, my subjects or any freedom-loving people anywhere in the world!

This is the thin end of the wedge. Let the UN get away with this and I promise you, worse will follow! Save your economy! Save your people! Save your country! RESIGN FROM THE UN now!!!!
30-11-2003, 02:04
...our economy is built on the automobile industry. The present UN motion is an attack against our national sport, our economy and our people.

Our country is called Paddys Castle and we are located in the region of Bigtopia. I am glad to say that two of my Bigtopian allies have also resigned from the UN.

The Dominion of NeoNauru has previously expressed its opinion of this resolution, namely that it is built on unsound science and that it is an unethical restraint on free trade. While not a member of the United Nations, the Dominion wishes to announce its support for the formation of an Automotive trade bloc, an OPEC for car manufacturers if you will. We humbly suggest that the nation of Paddys Castle, being the initiator of this movement, assemble a list of the nations who have expressed support for the formation of such an organization, both privately to Paddys Castle and on this thread.

soo, whats the friggin region gunna be?
05-12-2003, 17:33
We will join. We have already stated our intentions to join in the Bigtopia regional message board. We have been resigned from the UN ever since that one resolution.
05-12-2003, 17:36
Although we were never a member of the UN, this thread made me realize that we should never join it (we were considering joining it). We will join any other alternative organization - especially if endorsed by others in the region of Bigtopia. This one looks promising.

One wonders why nations as unreasonable and short-sighted as these even joined the UN in the first place. Good riddance!

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

The Confederacy of the Missouri will remain within the United Nations even when a particular vote doesn't go our way, because the function of the UN is to legislate for the good of the many, even when that seems at odds with the desires of the few.
