The WTO trade proposal: stimulate economic growth

28-11-2003, 00:28
This resolution proposes the creation of a World Trade Organisation, as a part of the United Nations, to provide a forum for international trade and smooth out any problems between nations.

Under this resolution, all UN nations will be compelled to reducing their tarrifs each year, in order to stimulate worldwide economic growth while we undergo the transition to end all polluting industries. Cutting down trade barriers will help ease the impact of the environmental resolutions passed.

Whereas many strong nations have punitive tarrifs, by reducing these barriers to commercial and industrial investment, and free trade, we can help fast track the growth of developing third world nations in particular. It is in the best interests of the world to do this, so less money is used on charity, of which the majority of donations go to "administrative costs".

All tarrifs must be reduced by a minimum of 2%p.a., with UN countries allowed to reduce them by more if they wish. Tarrif reductions which countries believe may affect their traditional culture would be able to apply for exemptions at the newly created WTO.

The stronger the global economy is, the easier it will be to get people off the streets. We can go a long way to ending the plight of countries that are ravaged by continual war, poverty and economic ineptitude.

The Holy Empire of Isochronous calls on all UN members to endorse this proposal.

Why should strong nations reduce tariffs? Why should they give up what they've built? Maybe weak, third world countries should take some initiative and build their economies on their own.

Tariffs protect local industry. They keep corporations from moving their jobs over-seas, therefore keeping citizens employed.

I think many of you have forgot how powerful economies are built. Tariffs are what built America into the most powerful nation on Earth. Japan's booming post-WW2 economy was a result of EXPORTING their cars to America, without allowing American cars IN.

Free trade is scam. It is a scam of pathetic, third world countries to suck 1st world countries dry. Do not endorse this proposal.
