Alternative Fuels - An Abstract With No Meaning

27-11-2003, 06:01
The current resolution to encumber the Automotive Industry of all nations, which have an Automotive Manufacturing Industry, with the burden of developing a viable Alternative Fuel resource is unfair.

This resolution depicts, prosecutes, judges and condemns the Automotive Manufacturing Industry as the sole responsible party for the creation of fossil fuel depletion and the sole responsible party to resolve and conclude to the happiness of all nations, said fossil fuel depletion.

This resolution, in it's most fundamental form, is nothing short of a lynch mob out to get "somebody" This resolution shows little initiative, affords no compromise, allows no alternatives and delegates, nay, mandates, the Automotive Manufacturing Industry to pay for, apparently, all research and development of 'all' Alternative Fuel solutions.

The modest cost of One percent of profits is deemed an appropriate cost of development by this resolution. In fact this is not a cost, rather we see it as a tax. This tax, which we call the Psuedo-AF-Tax, is a tax which will fall upon the normal everyday consumer. This tax, which we know, the Automotive Manufacturing Industry will find a way around, will be imposed upon the end user, resulting in a no cost situation to the AMI and extra cost to the consumer. The consumer, once again, will bear the brunt of weight by yet another unfair policy. This is clearly social irresponsibilty.

We, the Commonwealth of Treeonia, consider this resolution in oppostion to resolving any Alternative Fuel concerns and deem it unworthy of attention as written.

Rewrite this resolution to include ALL vested partners and end users to share in the experience of Alternative Fuel resolution, and then we may consider it a worthy cause.

With all due respect.

As someone pointed out in another thread, people just give a knee-jerk reaction to these kind of things. They see something that supposedly helps the envirnment, so IT MUST BE GOOD. Thats how the Rights of Labor Unions got passed. People see it and think: More rights for people = GOOD!
