why not make an optional single currency. those who want to can convert to it. those who dont wont be forced to.

We had a couple threads about this back in the day. I think there is some amount of confusion as to how each nation's worth would be determined in this new currency system.

The primary objection seems to be that smaller weaker countries would have their currency tagged to the value set by the economic policies of their more powerful neighbors.
