Womens Rights Act of 2003

25-11-2003, 05:28
It is a simple act that i created to continue the rapidly growing rights of people considered to be of lower status, like the racism and sexuality acts. This one is different in the fact that Women make up a world population majority, and that if they were treated fairly and equal, the speed of advancement can nearly double in years to come for many countries.

Women Rights Act of 2003

A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights
Strength: Significant
Proposed by: CalJeremyPunk

Description: Racial and Sexuality Rights have already raised an eyebrow, and a vote, in it's favor. What people have over-looked is that women, a gender that makes up a MAJORITY of the world population, also get their own rights taken away from them. I myself am a man, and believe that women should no longer be treated or taught to be of a lesser intelligence to the male gender, but to be able to express themselves freely. Little girls have to grow up learning from their mother that the role of the woman is to cook, clean, and be pregnant. Well, I say no more.

Women should be allowed in the workforce for the same pay as men, and should be allowed to take part in any male sports that are supported by federal taxes, for example, public schools. Divorce settlements will be based on the situation, men will no longer be given everything that was posessed amongst the couple, like children and property.

If we plan on making any further advancements in polotics, technology, and most importantly, Human Rights, it is crucial that the majority gender of the world population becomes equal to the minority gender.

Thank you for both of your approvals on the proposal. I hope that it becomes apparent to people how important any Women's Rights Act is to the future statis of the UN.

Hasn't this already been addressed already in the Bill of Rights Resolution?

Womens Rights Act of 2003 has been moved to page 17

and The Universal Bill of Rights is of the same topic as Womens Rights, but it doesn't make any direct or indirect connection with the arguments in the WRA of 2003 proposal.

I don't really think there is a need for a Women's Rights Act. And after tommorow when I am returned to delegate this is one vote I can sadly not grant you.

Just one point, i think the word entitled should replace the word allow.

Boss to woman " I am pleased to offer you the job, you are allowed to have equal pay.

Boss to woman " I am pleased to offer you the job, you are entitled to equal pay.

This is just my personal view on the different implications of the words. :)

Dosen't this only apply to the member nations with a law concerning equal pay?

The topic is all well and good, but maybe we have had enough "human-rights" oriented proposals lately? If we keep up the recent trend, what will happen to the global economy? Who will be employed to pay the exorbitant taxes? :(

Although i agree that there are more human rights issue proposals over any other at the time, I believe that Racial, Sexual, and Gender are of the three most important. Two of the three have already been made into proposals and passed, so I was just hoping to get the third, most important, human rights issue resolved. Everything else I feel is not worthy at the time. You can shoot me the day that i propose a law for cats to be allowed to go into dog parks.

Speaking of animals rights, have you considered whether you might support land rights for gay whales? It is under consideration in another thread... :)

Women have the right to shut up and cook my dinner

Would the Women's Rights bill also look to remove gravity? After all, gravity helps to keep women "down"
