Inner Peace proposal

24-11-2003, 06:46
I am here to announce and gain support for my resolution to the UN. It is a little different compared to the other types of resolutions that come to vote.

Basicaly it is this

Any country has the right to wage full war with any organization that has been deemed terrorist through a UN trial.

The organization in question will be allowed to represent itself in this trial in front of a council of three randomly chosen UN Delegate nations.

If you wish to endorse it seach for the proposal inner peace.

Traditionally speaking, war is something governments declare against other governments. Are you suggesting that we recognize terrorist organizations as sovereign governments, or that we be able to go to war with the governments who support them?

Your proposal strikes me as strange. You suggest the right for nations to declare war on UN decreed terrorist organizations. Suppose your proposal were put into practice in real life. China, seeing an opportunity, sends military forces into America to counter oh, let's say, the ELF. Now, if China decides to use the Bush Administrations definition of the "War on Terror," they can safely assume that any civilian they come across is defecting to said terrorist organization, and arrests or executes them as a result.

The Inner Peace proposal grants the right for other nations to enter a foreign nation and act as an interim police force to quell anti-whatever sentiments. Who's to stop them from committing acts not intended by your proposal while they are on patrol?

The trial for terrorist organizations is laughable. How many terrorist organizations do you know of that will openly represent themselves to the UN in hopes of not being classified as a terrorist organization?
