EQUALITY FOR ALL

23-11-2003, 19:01
It has come to our attention that the recent 'Equality for All' proposed resolution failed. The Holy Empress of Siora is deeply saddened by this fragment of news. She would like to express her approval and admiration for those who voted for equality and to condemn those who blocked the way of justice. Nations who do not allow equality for all their people are undoubtedly not worthy of having them as their citizens.

Well if you had read the resolution you might have noticed passing it would have lead to death of all UN members.

The Holy Empress is familiar with the content of the resolution in question. She believes that equality is essential to life, so without it all the UN members might as well be dead.

We direct Her Imperial Majesty to re-read the proposal. The proposal was not specific to sentient beings, but required equal protection for "all living things", including the plants and animals humans require for food. The proposal was so incredibly wide-sweeping in its definition of life requiring equality as to be patently absurd.

Have you read the debate over the proposal in this forum?

Collaboration... we are not yet familiar with that debate, but if you would be so kind as to direct us to it we will give it our due attention.

Furthermore, Her Divinity understands the implications of such a broad resolution, but is still saddened by the fact there isn't a way to ensure the survival of every living species without harming others.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic replies. May peace reign in all your nations.

Due to the unfortunate and tragic death of Her Divinity, Siora is unable to submit replies until further notice.

Come now, we would not even be allowed to bathe if it got passed, let alone take medicine, have legal abortions, or consume food.

It was under "civil rights." Technically, it should have been nuked in proposal stage for being Orwellian.

See, this is why I value the input of the "hard-core proposal surfers" out there. A fresh pair of eyes looking at proposals every now and then is no end of help to a jaded mod like yours truly.
