Individual freedom
A resolution to ban, legalize, or encourage recreational drugs.

Category: Recreational Drug Use Decision: Legalize Proposed by: Tooltopia
Description: It appears as if the true nature of freedom has been replaced with a popular concept, which is far from true freedom. This is not to say that every person should be allowed to do as they please, rather they should be allowed to exercise their minds and pursue their true will as long as it does not harm another human being or hinder the happiness or well-being of another.

This is to propose that all drugs be legalized. Drug use has gained a very negative light because many have abused drugs and made poor choices and the media only concerns itself with these cases. What often goes unnoticed is the fact that many people gain great benefits from drug use, be it creative, spiritual, psychological or other. To tell a human being that he or she cannot put something into their body, something which may have great benefits for them, simply because it disagrees with popular opinion is blatantly wrong. The fact of the matter is that most illegal drugs are less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol. This is ironic because more can be gained from these currently illegal drugs than can be gained from cigarettes or alcohol.

Currently illegal drugs should be treated in the manner which alcohol is treated. Driving under the influence is a severe endangerment of life and should be dealt with aggressively; though so long as a person treats drugs and or alcohol with respect and care there is no problem in allowing them to pursue what they feel is right for them as an individual. People who are of the age 18 or older deserve the right to do with their body and minds as they please and do not need a government to tell them what is right and wrong for them.

Drug use is an individual right.

Edit___Yeah, I should have just done this in the first place.

Too much trouble to copy and paste your proposal here, and you want us to follow a link and read it. Sounds like a lot of work.
