Coordinate System
A resolution to reduce barriers to free trade and commerce.

Category: Free Trade Strength: Mild Proposed by: Plenetia
Description: Description: ACKNOWLEGING that there is currently no clearly defined standard coordinate system to locate points in the world.

APPRECIATING that such a coordinate system is not entirely intuitive and must be defined by an agreement among nations (Review The International Meridian Conference of 1884).

NOTING that such a coordinate system is necessary for economic, scientific, and military purposes.

RECOGNIZING that while the UN is not necessarily the place to propose such a system, it is the only forum where such a proposal can be made.

The Incorporated States of Mathe
URGES that such a coordinate system will be instated with the following guidelines:

1. From north to south, the world will be divided into 180 partitions set off by lines of latitude set 1 degree (°) apart from each other
---The North Pole will be defined as 90° North Latitude, to be denoted as 90°N or 90°.
---The South Pole will be defined as 90° South Latitude, to be denoted as 90°S or -90°
---The equator, equidistant from the North and South Poles, will be defined as 0° latitude, to be denoted by 0°.

2. Perpendicular to these lines of latitude will be defined 360 partitions set off by lines of longitude set 1 degree (°) apart from each other.
---The value of 0° longitude will be defined as the line connecting the North and South Poles passing through the crosshairs of the eyepiece of the telescope in the Mathe National Observatory in the outskirts of Mathe's capitol city, Pyth.
---Values of longitude will increase in value going both east and west, so that the line going around the world perpendicular to 0° longitude at the North and South Poles will be defined as 90° west longitude, to be denoted as 90°W, to the immediate west of the Prime Meridian, and as 90° east longitude, to be denoted as 90°E, to the immediate east of the Prime Meridian.
---The extension of 0° longitude around the opposite side of the world shall be defined as 180° longitude, to be denoted as 180°.

3. The area between each line of latitude and longitude is to be divided into 60 additional partitions, to be defined as minutes (') and increasing from 0' at the lesser line of latitude or longitude and 60' at the greater line.

4. The area between each minute is to be further divided into another 60 partitions, to be defined as seconds (") and increasing from 0" at the lesser minute and 60" at the greater.

5. All points can be denoted by a code of latitude and longitude in the format of the following example: 56° 34’ 23”N longitude, 34° 12’ 34”W latitude (coordinates not intended to denote specific location).

Note this is a repost of Mathe's coordinate system.

As you can read above its a repost, of Mathe's coordinate system that i have reposted because i though it was nice, plz support it because im tired of voting against tree hugger resolutions.

I for one think this is a great idea. The war threads are all so confusing it's difficult to keep up with them. I already accepted it.

Even though I love mathematics as well I don't think I can vote for a proposal that would serve the purpose of making the nation of "Mathe " the center of the NS's known world.
If you have a wider imagination, Mathe could just as well make a proposal (using his love of mathematics) to make himself the center of the entire universe.
