I am new to the UN and I was wondering if there was some legislation that outlined the basic rights of nation states. There is a lot material that focuses on how countries should deal human rights issues. It should not be the UN's job to tell people how to run their nations. Instead, where are the proposals that outline a nation's right to exist, to trade its goods, or to protect its peaple? There should be a focus in the UN that protects the rights of individual nations.
