United Middle-Earth not following it's own resolution???

16-11-2003, 13:20
United Middle-Earth's private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry. As books need paper which comes from trees, United Middle-Earth is obviously either planning on squashing their industry using this resolution as the tool, or are going to break their own resolution.

Also, regarding equality for all, a 58% tax rate that is "even higher for the wealthy" hardly sounds like equality. Come to think of it, doesn't taxation go against the whole "Live and let live" philosophy.

Oh, and the Political Freedoms in United Middle-Earth are also "Below Average". Does not sound like equality for all.

Finally, we encourage United Middle-Earth and all others in support of this resolution to immediately enact the resolution in their own country, so that their citiizen "beings" can starve to death and not bother intelligent beings in the future.

United Middle-Earth has posted a reply (I do not know if he has done so anywhere else) in the thread "Will all UN states cease to exist?"

He brings up some clarifications of his terms etc. Check it out. Flaming does not become UN ambassadors

United Middle Earth would be forced to resign from the UN like the rest of us. It has been suggested elsewhere that this nation's only plan is to destroy the UN.

However, it is not the position of Cowes to speculate and insult other nations... blah, blah, blah.

I have read some recent posts against the resolution brought forth regarding "Equality for all". I can't believe that UN memebers could be so ignorant. I have read the resolution several times and I have come to the same conclusions each and every time. In fact our motto is one that closly resembles this resolution. "Harm none and do what ye will..."

I think this is a well thought out proposal, I find nothing confusing about it. What I do find confusing is some of my fellow delegates reponses. "Not being able to eat" "Not being able to breathe." For those delegates I simply put forth, that if that is your interpretation maybe you should stop breathing because there is obviously no oxygen reaching your brains.

For others regarding putting up arms to squash out this "threat" you should be immediately removed from the UN, for war has never been a diplomatic solution to a problem. If you can not intelligently state your reason for disproval of this resolution than you should resign.

Stop. Look. Listen. Take another look at this resolution in its simplest terms and I defy you to vote against it.

Sincerely,

Lillith

Well, the problem with the UN currently does seem to be simpletons who cannot see the real implications of resolutions.

But anyhow, the NO camp is down 1600 votes, which is much better than 24 hours ago. This can still be rejected!

Destroying the UN is his plan. The resolution will accomplish it brilliantly if it passes. He designed it to trick us.

Perhaps you should take your own advice. You're not actually reading the proposa, it's implicationsl and the arguments against it. The resolution calls for protection of all life, but that would include food sources and diseases. Even breathing kills microbes. The human race cannot survive if this resolution passes. I am normally left-wing, but this ridiculous.

Mythological Beings-

To take a resolution in its simplist form will leave us open to its worst interpretation.

A Resolution must be clear and unambiguous.

This proposal looks liberal but is actually conservative.

"All forms of life" seems completely unambiguous and in no need of clarification.

I am neither liberal or conservative. My veiws are libertarian, which means i think the government's role in people's lives should be small, just enough to keep order. This resolution makes me take a large role in my people's live UNACCEPTABLE
