Under Free Trade -

International tarrifs on Aerospace related technologies or products need to be abolished. The patent of the product, system or process need only be registered with the Colony of Neoluna's International Exchange and this will be submitted to the UN who will enforce the free trade of aerospace products, systems or processes insuring the ready availability of only superior aerospace technologies for the nations of the world.


Basically improving the quailty of available aerospace systems will insure a quicker entrance into and a permanent human presence in space for many nations. Do it for the next generation of explorers.

We in Gurthark oppose this proposal.

While we recognize that trade barriers are, ceteris paribus, bad for the world economy, we are willing to impose levies for two reasons: As part of a program of diplomatic sanctions, or to compensate for what we perceive as unfair labor or environmental practices on the part of other nations. We also practice and support embargoes on equipment with military applications, when appropriate.

While we are opposed to barriers to trade in humanitarian goods (such as medicines), we are unwilling to give up our right to erect such barriers in general. Space exploration, while noble, does not constitute a humanitarian emergency, and most aerospace technology has a definite military application. We therefore wish to maintain our right to both enact levies on aerospace technology imports and maintain embargoes on aerospace technology exports.

Tariffs are a bad idea. Traders should not be punished for the actions of their governments.
