Equality For All Proposal - Has anyone read this?

So the UN again stands to make itself a laughingstock by pushing for a radical motion that, if taken at it's word, condemns all of us who are unable to sustain our existence through photosynthesis to starvation.

I quote - "We propose that all nations under the UN charter respect the very essence of life and vow to preserve and protect it, in all its many forms whether human, or otherwise."

This means, killing and eating that potato would violate the letter of this resolution.

Now, I don't know about you, but when I eat a brace of conies, 'taters are absolutely mandatory.

Doesn't anyone read these proposals before endorsing them?

Yes, that's absurd! What are we supposed to eat, rocks??
Do you think people will notice that, or just pass it without thinking?

My money's on "pass without thinking."

Anyone want to make a bet? :)

Yeah when somebody brought that up earlier, I told him that it implies we should abolish medicine...

What appalls this government is how so many of our worthy delegates have supported such a badly worded proposal.

Amendments must be made. The idea is very good. But... food requires the denial of existence of something whether it be plant or animal. And who is going to govern the carnivorous animals? Animals are not bound by such laws, and we can't really go around and start arresting all meat eating animals.
