"Gun Ownership Right" Deleted Unjustly, but back!

Description: A trained populace, knowledgeable about the function and use of firearms, being necessary for the survival of a truly free society, the right of citizens in UN member nations to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Let it be hereby resolved that no UN member nation shall prohibit their citizens from owning firearms which are not fully automatic, nor prohibit their ownership of swords, knives, or other bladed weaponry. Let it further be resolved that State mandated Gun Registration is also prohibited, as this commonly leads to tyranny through government abuse of power.

I would not make a second thread about this proposal if it wasn't necessary. The original proposal, Gun Ownership Right, has been unjustly deleted! This is not the first time I've seen this happen. Whenever a "Right-Wing" proposal seems to start gaining support, somebody in the UN decided to whack it, before it can get anywhere. This happened to the Common Sense Act II, originally, and the only reason it made it through was because I pointed this out; that it was deleted unjustly by a partisan who didn't agree with its politics.

The above stated proposal was under the "Gun Control" category, and the wording is clear, the intent is obvious, and it is very worthy of the UN's intention. There is no reason this proposal should have been deleted a day early.

It has therefore been resubmitted.

If you feel that a proposal was deleted and should not have been, then you should file a complaint to the "Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help)" page and await a reply. For this reason, everyone is advised to save a copy of the proposal text on their computers so that they can copy-and-paste the proposal into the complaint; Game Moderators don't always remember the details of the proposals they delete.

It has therefore been resubmitted.

I believe that Enodia has ejected nations from the UN for repeatedly submitting bad proposals. Although your proposal looks good to me, it is Enodia, not me, who judges UN proposals.

By the way, when you selected "Gun Control" as the category, did you remember to set the option as "relax" and not "tighten"? If you forgot to do this and left it as "tighten gun controls", then your proposal would have been deleted for doing the opposite of what it says.

Looks to me like it spent the normal 3 days in the Queue, submitted on the 7th, and then you made this topic on the 10th. You just seem to submit your proposals early on in the morning, right before the update, so your proposals generally spend less time in the Queue.

The Commie Smashers would support this proposal if gun registration was not banned.

It seems kind of stupid to me that some moderator is able to judge the worthiness of proposals, what may seem bad to his left wing frame of thought, may be good to others. This UN seems just like the real one.

I certainly didn't delete the proposal, and as much of the Moderator Log as I'm prepared to trawl through doesn't contain any record of anyone deleting it. It looks to me as though Tisonica's explanation is accurate - all proposals have a limited shelf-life regardless of the political sympathies of the submitting nation. "Gun Control" is one of the easier categories to police, and there was nothing wrong with that proposal.
Even if the proposal had been "unjustly deleted", there's no need whatsoever to make a song and dance about it. As has been stated ad nauseam on the Moderation forum, saying something like "My nation was deleted, can I ask why" is much more likely to get results than saying "Alright, which one of you SOBs calling yourself mods deleted my nation? I'll take you to court for this!" The same rules apply here, given that you're questioning a moderator action - even though one was not taken in this situation.

Also, I often see Gun Control Proposals as "civil rights" proposals.

You might think that you are making a point, but a "relax gun control laws" proposal will raise civil rights *and* legalize guns *and* it is less likely that your proposal will be deleted for inaccurate categorization.

Who cares? The less gun nuts trying to militarise their population the better.

Gratuitous emphasis by Enodia.

That's the major issue here though, forget political theories.
