Rid the World of DHMO and it's destructive uses.

Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the unstable radical Hydroxide, the components of which are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
Here are some things you may not know:
Dihydrogen Monoxide has been found in our rivers, lakes, oceans and streams.
--DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
--Thousands die each year after inhaling dihydrogen monoxide.
--Dihydrogen Monoxide can be deadly.
--DHMO severely corrodes iron, steel, and other metals.
--DHMO is used in nuclear reactors and then "dumped" into surrounding tributaries.
--DHMO is used as an industrial solvent and coolent
--as a major ingredient in many home-brewed bombs,
--as a byproduct of hydrocarbon combustion in furnaces and air conditioning compressor operation,
--in the production of Styrofoam,
--in biological and chemical weapons manufacture,
--historically, in Hitler's death camps in Nazi Germany, and in prisons in Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Libya, Iraq and Iran,
--in World War II prison camps in Japan, and in prisons in China, for various forms of torture,
--by the Serbian military as authorized by Slobodan Milosevic in their recent ethnic cleansing campaign,
--in animal research laboratories, and
--in pesticide production and distribution.

DHMO is also present as:
--food additives,
--major components of spray-on oven cleaners
--and other household cleaners.

Unfortunately, the dangers of DHMO have increased as world population has increased, a fact that the raw numbers and careful research both bear out. Now more than ever, it is important to be aware of just what the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide are and how we can all reduce the risks faced by ourselves and our families.

Help us to stop the worldwide use of this dangerous substance.

H20 two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen is water...... this did the rounds years ago.

Better to ban D20 heavy water used for nuclear reactions.

I saw that website like four years ago, it's getting old.

We in Gurthark are well aware of the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide, and have taken the following steps to mitigate the problem:

1) Educational campaigns warning children of the dangers of DHMO inhalation
2) Lifeguards stationed at all public pools
3) Signs on beaches warning of "dangerous undertow" when present
4) Ground fault switches in residential and business electrical systems to minimize the chance of DHMO-facilitated electrocution

We in Gurthark feel that these protections are sufficient, and due to the known environmental and health benefits of DHMO, we are unwilling to ban its use entirely.

Sincerely,
