UN Peace Day
I want to propose a resolution declaring the first Saturday in
June as "UN Peace Day". This would be a day to celebrate, pray for,
work for, (or whatever) WORLD Peace.
I am not sure which category to put it under, however.
Any suggestions on wording of resolution *or* category would
be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I remember The United Socialist States of Reyl told me that he was going to do this.
Yes, bruilliant idea. Disarmament.
Hey, I remember The United Socialist States of Reyl told me that he was going to do this.
Yes, bruilliant idea. Disarmament.
Thanks for the response.
So far not enough votes for me to decide which category,
please vote in this poll. :D
I will be submitting the resolution soon.
Hopefully after a few more people vote in
the poll.
Here is the wording of the resolution so far:
*UN PEACE DAY*
Whereas we as a planet need to get along better.
Whereas war causes serious problems between nations.
Whereas war is costly for every nation especially the larger
ones.
Whereas the people of the land of Athine feel strongly
that more can and should be done to promote understanding,
tolerance and peace between nations.
Therefore be it resolved that the first Saturday of June
be designated "World Peace Day".

While your intentions are good, the execuition is utterly impractical. You cannot FORCE anyone to make an 'informed' decision. There will always be those who vote for whatever side has the nicest name or whatnot.
As for discussing the mandate of the UN. Simply put, the NS-UN has no limitations on its powers (except the fact that no resolutions calling for game changes cna be passed).
The only point we agree with you on, is the necessity to delete those proposals which are simply re-proposing something that is already law.
