Anti-proposal

01-11-2003, 18:31
A rough draft of a proposal to combat the current one...

1. Aware of a recent resolution to create organizations relating to the dumping of
2. waste matter, and
3. Noting with deep concern several problems created by the issue, and
4. Also noting that several nations are opposed to the resolution, and
5. Acknowledging that the issue is one that merits greater debate,
6. We, the honorable delegation of the Jaxus Kingdom Nations, call upon the United Nations to re-open the relevant Whoway resolution to debate.

Respectfully submitted,

I, founder of the Jaxus Kingdom, approve of this anti-proposal. I believe the Whoway resolution should be open for debate in not a voting debate, but a debate in the forums, so we can all get our words in. Maybe it will make this resolution more acceptable. The Whoway resolution should be debated through words, not through button presses.

Game mechanics, can't be done.

If you submit this your proposal will probably be deleted and you will be warned.

It looks like my proposal has made quite a stir in the UN. I am glad that nations finally realize what a disaster we can be to the world and to all UN nations! I am very glad that my proposal has been approved by the majority of the UN and that my nation will stop being so polluted by nations the just "don't care". A vote 'yes' to the current proposal is a vote for better living and a safer world!

I get weary of being told what "can't be done". Perhaps we need more game and fewer mechanics.

Seriously. My nation is still aplying to be a member of th U.N., but when I have a valid resolution that can't be presented, something is wrong.

btw--In case any of you were wondering, this is in actual U.N. format, where the whole thing is one sentence. Often you get 30-line sentences.

I like the fact that it's in the actual format of UN proposals. That's a nice touch. Problem is that you're calling for debate to be re-opened on something which has already been passed - which can't be done in this game as it currently stands.

What's so great about dumping toxic waste in oceans, anyway?

Which leads me to ask, when ARE you going to fix that???

Or, better than re-opening proposals--leave proposals open for longer, and allow for amendements to the resolution (accepted or declined by the proposing nations) and a small, shout-box type "mini-forum" beneath each proposal.

Good question actually. Admin's been a bit busy recently with the introduction of the new issues, but I'm certain this sort of thing will be done sometime.

Good, cause I've been waiting to repeal the common sense act for months.
