A list of things the UN can and can not make proposal's on..

Or is there one already. I have seen proposal's on regulating sexual activities, and total disarming of nations, just to name a couple. Look the UN has its place, but it cant dictate interal issues like these. I propose that the U.N come up with a list of issues that are are national issues only or a list of things the UN can vote on, (which ever is shorter) I think things like the sexual conduct of individual nations citizens is best left to individual nations and not an issue the UN should be involved in.

If it wouldn't interfere with game mechanics, maybe we could draft a proposal which would list those topics which would be off-limits.

That what im saying. Some thing DO affect the world at large ( disease war etc) something are best left for individual nations (sex, voting etc) i for one dont want to see individual nations rights over run by proposals that are NOT whithin the jurisdiction of this body.

While I agree that the UN's powers should be limited, I don't see how this is possible. The UN in Nationstates is almighty. It can meddle in whatever arena it wants, raise global taxes, lower taxes, whatever. The concept of national sovereignity itself has no meaning in the current structure.

Unless game mechanics were to change, or the moderators change their mind about deleting resolutions that limit the UN's power (by enumerating what the UN's scope is) there is nothing anyone can realistically do.

"While Supreme Chancellor Griffin and the Dictatorship of Grifftonia agree that the UN should not be able to control everything, we understand that this is not possible to avoid. The simple answer is that if you do not want the UN meddling in your affairs you simply resign from it. You could also try and build resistence to certain laws. Every vote counts."
