Gun control? I think gun control is important, if you can't control your gun, then you shouldn't have one.

I think people should be forced to take courses on handling guns before they can get one.

So... the people of Pret could blow a giant hole in some dudes face just because you want to. HA...HAHAHA...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

HA

Somehow I don't agree with you.

I think this body should stop fking with national sovereignty in such detail and focus on more general issues, such as the current medical bill and other things like the universal declaration of human rights.

We in Gurthark are proud to be a gun-free society. Crime--especially violent crime--is virtually unknown in our country, and we have no wish to allow an influx of firearms.

We oppose this proposal.

We're opposed to the resolution because it clearly violates national sovereignty. In fact, Ursoria still allows its citizens to own firearms. We were thinking about abolishing them, but considering some of the recent postings concerning our country by Ithuania and Rational Self Interest, maybe it's a good thing to allow our people to keep their guns. Just in case.

(By the way, Ursorians tend to be pretty good shots.)

We've been over this ground before. There should be a limit on how many times the same issue can be brought up as a proposal.

New nations deserve the right to debate issues that have already been debated. If you don't care about the issue, it is simple enough to ignore. Laws sometimes change as times change. The game might reach a point where resolutions that have previously failed are now viable.

If the issue is a total bore for old nations, then let them show this by ignoring the thread and letting it sink like a stone.

Maybe, but unfortunately, a lot of nations follow the tactic of re-submitting resolutions over and over till they gain enough approval.

Personally, the only change that I would like, is the ability to repeal past resolutions, which we can't currently do.

You're right; sorry.
I wasn't considering the newbs.

No matter how you look at it, the UN affects your national sovernty as long as you are in the UN.

Did you read the thing when you went to join? It said something about the UN proposal process thing is trade offs between one thing or another. To make one thing go up, something goes down. That's how it works and if you agree with the proposal, good for you but if you disagree, then it does infringe on national sovernty.

Yeah....you're absolutely right.

But there's a limit to things. The UN resolutions affect all the member nations--thusly a violation of national sovereignty. This is the nature of the UN we have. But I really think we need to stop bickering over little things that really ought to be localized to nations on an individual level.

Oh, yes, war with Ursoria is just what we need - seven times our population and three times our GDP. Thanks, but no thanks. We prefer to stay home and make money - and keep our shooting skills honed, just in case.
