Liberty's Requiem

The Global Market

In light of recent UN resolutions, I propose a resolution to do the following:

- No nation shall be forced to give aid to another nation.
- No nation shall be forced to create any policy that would inevitably increase its taxation rate for any purpose.
- No nation shall be forced to create any policy that would destroy the right of its citizens to due process.
- No nation shall be forced to enter into any military conflict or alliance.
- No nation shall be forced to create any policy regulating drugs or weapons within its borders.
- No nation shall be forced to create any policy with the purpose of restricting sciences and the arts within its borders.
- No nation shall be forced to surrender its rule of law to arbitrary power.

What say you all?

Freedom-loving peoples must stand united as never before against "moral deceny", "law & order", "social justice" and "environmental" UN resolutions as they are the enemies of liberty and of reason.

Game mechanics...you can't limit proposals.

True. I'll have to think of a way around that.

It is true that game mechanics prevent you from proposing this resolution, but even so you are absolutely right!

Out of curiousity, if all these restrictions were placed, what would the purpose of the United Nations be?

What resolutions could the United Nations possibly pass that would not in some way violate some aspect of some nation's internal affairs, which could then be construed to violate one or more of these limitations.

Or are you simply arguing for structural changes, such as requiring that all UN resolutions would be approved on a local level also, before being implemented?

The UN can still pass resolutions to INCREASE freedom.

This isn't about sovereignity, this is about liberty.

The last point says that the UN can't replace rule of law with arbitrary power. It can, however, replace arbitrary power with rule of law.

The UN can't increase taxation. But it can decrease taxation. Etc, etc.

It's time to return the UN to the free world rather than allow tyrannies to continue to use it to spew forth death, desolation, and despotism.

Oh my, alliteration.

It would be beneficial to legislate some procedural controls, I agree.

I am willing to support this resolution, but I think the question raised concerning game mechanics are legitimate. We shall see how this proposal fares.

Oh my, alliteration.

I know! The Declaration of Independence says "Death, Desolation, and Tyranny". I figure that I can change tyranny to despotism without losing any of the original meaning and it becomes alliteration!

By that definition, explotiation isn't necessarily bad. I'm trying to get into college, therefore I am exploiting my high school by using it to learn. I want to survive, therefore I am exploiting my food. I want to solve a math problem, therefore I exploit my calculator. Etc, etc.
