Join me in threatening to leave the UN!

Greetings to everyone who is concerned about the state of the worlds' economy,

I am writing this in response to the newly-passed UN resolution "Global AIDS initiative". Before it was passed, I was concerned that the resolution would damage the economy, even so I was surprised to see how great the damage actually was: My own economy fell from "powerhouse" to "strong", the same happened to my neigbouring country, and Hedonist has in another thread written that his or her country was even harder hit, in that if fell from "powerhouse/excellent"-levels to "good". This represents nothing less than a HUGE decrease in the standard of living for our countries. I believe that there are many countries that have suffered comparable economic damage.
Therefore I propose that we warn the UN not to follow up with any more of these harmful "social justice" (so-called) resolutions, and that if it does, we'll leave the UN. This threat may prove to be effective as the UN must be concerned with it's growing "left-wing" image, an image that will eventually leave it non-representative. Also, if economically powerful nations leave the UN, it will be deprived of the funds necessary to pass expensive resolutions.

Yours Godly

I agree. This recent resolution was nothing short of an excuse to spread poverty and tyranny under the pretext of improving the third-world.

The Federation of Rational Self Interest regrets that we cannot join you in this protest, since we would first be obliged to rejoin the UN and have no intention of doing so.

If you don't like the UN, Leave. simple as that.

I believe that was the whole point of this thread.

Why would we really care one way or the other if you leave the UN?

Why would we really care one way or the other if you leave the UN?

Well as I wrote, there were two principal reasons:
1) If the right-wing nations (I know some take offense of this term, but I use it for the sake of brevity) leave the UN, the UN will end up as a body with no claim at all to represent the nations of the world.
2) It is mostly us who have the money to fund the UN's expensive social projects, so the resolutions will become impotent.

If you don't care about these two reasons, I am unable to answer your question.

1) The UN has no interest in representing all the nations of the world. And your "brevity" would be better labelled "deceit".

2) The resolutions will still work to bankrupt the leftist nations remaining in the UN - which is fine. None of their backers cares if they have any positive effect, so it doesn't matter if the financing for them is lost, but we doubt that the game mechanics take any cognizance of whether they really have any financing anyway.

Alas, I have rejoined the UN so that I may leave it again later .

I really tried to leave recently, very upset about the domineering world government, but decided to stay as a "nettle under the blanket".

Quit whining. Leave the UN if you dont like what it's doing.

You don't have to be a UN member to comment on their bizarre activities. As for voting, why bother? But you can always set up a disposable nation as a stalking horse if you want to vote.

I dont believe the UN, a computer programed system, will mind if you leave.

The thing people might want to consider here, is how important the economy is. Sure no one cares if certain people leave, however, if a resolution destroys economys once it is put into effect, such was the case for my country were the economy went from strong to weak. Then maybe it isn't a idea after all since people's stardards of living are being reduced making more people poor.

While Eredron has no intention of leaving the UN, we share your anger and concern with the recently passed AIDS initiative, which had catastrophic effects on our economy - cutting our GDP by 3/4.

While the new government of Crazed Weasles fully supports your problem we would reccomend that you stay in the UN and vote against these laws so we can try and turn the tide of Economically damaging resolutions.

Our economy has not fallen below the "Frightening" level in quite a while. It seems not to be in any way affected by UN resolutions. To those nations whose economies are harmed by UN decisions, we suggest that the faults lie with their economies, not with the UN. Consider shifting the focus of your industries.

We would also suggest that there are many left-leaning nations which command considerable wealth, ourselves inclusive. We do not feel that the UN would go bankrupt if all the right-wing nations left. It may be inconvenienced, but it will recover.
