The Holy Empire of the Druze hereby announces the formation of the United Nations Conservative Caucus, designed to allow conservative and center-right nations in the United Nations to band together to get worthy legislation passed.

It is open to all conservative United Nations members. Simply post here to join. We will design a website in the future to serve the needs of the UNCC, if we cross 20 members.

JOIN TODAY!

This post has been made by order of the Holy Druzian Emperor, Commander-in-Chief of the Druzians.

I absolutely agree; the latests UN-resolution made my economy fall from "powerhouse" to "strong"! This is horrible, and I would like to help you. But if the UN continue to damage my economy, I will leave it.

Yours Godly

I would support you, but, like all the other Rightist caucuses, yours supports moderates and liberals.

We do not find such people worthy of alliance.

One is either Conservative or they are not.

You stole my idea when I made the Liberal Caucus.

Yes, the conservative caucus is in direct opposition to your liberal caucus!

The so-called "political spectrum" is an attempt by collectivists to define non-collectivists out of existence. It runs from egalitarian collectivists on one end to organic collectivists at the other. We despise all collectivism and refuse to identify ourselves with any segment of it.

As with the Liberal Caucus, the Most Holy Republic of Eredron must condemn the establishment of a Conservative Caucus; it serves only to further divide a international body who'se goal was cooperation and unity between the nations of the world.

I agree. I answered "moderate" on the poll since pure liberalism is communism and pure conservatism is feudalism. Both are oppressive.

Libertarianism is out-of-category.

TGM you are becoming more and more like Fantasan. Isn't Rational Self Interest your puppet anyway?

Pure liberalism is the most individualist you can get before the bunch of arse that is individualist anarchism. Liberalism is what you call libertarianism, modern liberalism is less libertarian, but only because those in power consider it to be necessary to maintain order in developed nations.

Pure Conservatism is feudalism I suppose (and you cannot give me the crap about using old definitions now since you have used them yourself here) but modern conservatism is also neo liberal in terms of economics. Thus using modern definitions Liberalism and Conservatism are both right wing ape ideologies with only a few superficial social issues to distinguish them.

Wait... where did you get the idea that Rational Self Interest is my puppet?

I'll assure you that he isn't.

Anyways, if you are an extreme leftist of course you will view both liberals and conservatives as rightists.

And if you are an extreme rightist you will view both as leftists.

There's more to politics than liberal and conservative, American.

I'm well-aware of that.

However, my post was in response to someone who was talking in terms of liberal and conservative. I personally consider myself to be neither.

We are Conservative!

Hmm...interesting idea...to form a caucus that is.

The ironic thing is that the people of New Clarkhall generally take a center-right or conservative stance on most UN resolutions with the last one being the obvious exception.

Recent history aside, New Clarkhall would be willing to join such a caucus if the method by which the caucus decides and acts were to be further elucidated.

Who for instance, decides whether or not a resolution is going to be worthy of support?

Are members of the caucus restricted from voting for resolutions not considered conservative (is this a promotional caucus with the purpose of helping conservative legislation pass, or is it also going to actively combat liberal resolutions)?

In short, how much is this caucus going to restrict our foreign policy? We have a long tradition of voting for resolutions not on their general bent, but apon their content. We shall not brook apon ventures that jeapordize this tradition.

We await an answer.

the armed republic of portugal fully supports this idea and will be part of this association.

I would be will to join this caucus if it only means to promote a conservative proposals, however, the Jurain States will not join this caucus if it means that we have to vote a certain way.
20-10-2003, 03:34
We have a question:

What does membership entail? Do we HAVE to vote the same way?

Count me in in the UN conservative caucus. Telegram my Empire if support is needed for some hard-hitting, economy-guided proposals.
How do you endorse a proposal?
