UN Proposition to make NS more fun

11-10-2003, 09:38
A lot of people can not experience the same fun the original nations on NS had for one simple reason... they can't do anything drastic or outrageous, all because every single nation has about 87 billion-plus-pop nations backing them up.

I think we should set a limit, no more than 5 nations in an alliance. They would work similarly to regions, being able to kick people out or recruit new people... it would make it sooooo much more fun. No one wants to go up against the CFA, or the GA, or the CC, or any of these other 100-member alliances, it just ruins the fun... In real life there alliances between like 3 or 4 nations, and not 80 something. If we had a limit we could be able to things a LOT more fair.

I don't know if this should be in the UN forum or Technical Forum, but oh well.

Do you understand what I am proposing? Alter the word "region" to say "Alliance" or "Coallition" and then cap it at 4 or 5 nations... It would work really well. Of course, you could have relations and trades with other nations.

Does this sound like a good idea at all? input?

Not everyone is a UN member, Ray.

This would affect nothing, and you would still run into 100 member alliances.

Yes it is.
We need more ideas to promote fun.
We need more permission to be mouthy and foolish as well.

In real life most countries have huge monster alliances. Or is NATO not an alliance? The European Community has over 20 members and more and more nation wanting to join. And well the United States of America isn't that a monster alliance of states ?

We tried an alliance format, back in the late 1770's and early 1780's. Didn't work too well, so we went with a federal form of government described in our famous and often-talked-about Constitution. So, technically speaking, The United States is a single sovereign power, not an alliance.
